Abstract

This study focuses on measuring the factors that influence user interest and adoption of Bank Muamalat's mobile banking service, known as Muamalat DIN, using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) model with the addition of the Perceived Risk variable. Mobile banking services in Indonesia have experienced rapid growth, driven by advancements in digital technology and the increasing use of smartphones. Bank Muamalat has also developed mobile banking technology known as Muamalat DIN. However, amidst this trend, the growth of Muamalat DIN users at Bank Muamalat's Batam branch remains relatively low compared to the total number of individual customers of Bank Muamalat as a whole. This study involved 150 respondents and utilized Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS to identify the factors contributing to increased user interest and Adoption of the service. The results of the study indicate that Hedonic Motivation, Price Value, Effort Expectancy, and Social Influence have a significant influence on Behavioural Intention, while Behavioural Intention, Facilitating Conditions, and Habit significantly influence Adoption. On the other hand, Perceived Risk does not have a significant effect on Behavioural Intention. These findings provide managerial implications for Bank Muamalat to enhance the adoption of Muamalat DIN by improving user-friendly features, implementing marketing strategies based on social influence, and increasing the perceived value of the service. Furthermore, the results of this study are expected to enrich the literature on technology acceptance, particularly in the context of Islamic banking in Indonesia.
