Abstract

Production decline in oil and gas production poses a significant challenge for oil and gas companies in Indonesia. To address this issue, detailed subsurface analysis is required to identify economically viable hydrocarbon reservoir targets and enhance company profits. Subsurface analysis is often hindered by the complexity of large, dispersed data and the use of various non-integrated software, resulting in lengthy and inefficient analysis times. Therefore, this research aims to develop an integrated dashboard with an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) to accelerate the subsurface analysis process. This research employs a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, field observations, and questionnaire surveys to identify user needs, which are analyzed using user persona, customer journey map, and House of Quality (HoQ) to determine key features for the GUI dashboard. A quantitative approach is also applied using the System Usability Scale (SUS) to evaluate the intuitiveness and user-friendliness of the developed dashboard. Users are categorized into two groups: geologists and geophysicists. The analysis of user persona and customer journey map reveals that geologists require data integration features, attractive visualizations, and automation, while geophysicists need a simple GUI capable of handling complex data and efficiently integrating multi-source data. The HoQ analysis prioritizes features such as professional and visually appealing graphics, the ability to display multi-attribute seismic maps and cross-sections, customizable data visualization, and robust data management. The SUS evaluation indicates that the developed GUI dashboard is intuitive, user-friendly, and supports work efficiency. The application of design thinking and new product development approaches successfully resulted in a GUI dashboard prototype aligned with user needs. It is recommended that companies adopt this dashboard as a standard tool, supported by intensive user training and infrastructure investment. Additionally, strategic partnerships with technology providers should be leveraged for further innovation. Risk mitigation strategies, including enhanced cybersecurity measures and comprehensive integration testing, are essential to ensure smooth implementation and maximize benefits for the company.
