Abstract

Glass bottom tour ship is a tour ship designed as an alternative way to enjoy the beauty of the underwater world. As a tour ship, there is one aspect that needs to be considered, namely vibrations on the ship. The vibrations originate from the engine room and can cause excessive vibrations that have the potential to become resonance so that they can interfere with the comfort of ship passengers. The analysis shows that resonance occurs at the ship's operational speed of 8-10 knots due to the natural frequency value of the structure (with 484 modes) approaching the excitation frequency generated by variations in ship speed and engine speed. To overcome this problem, structural modifications were made by increasing stiffness, so that resonance no longer occurs. Furthermore, a modal dynamic analysis was carried out in the form of displacement, velocity, and acceleration on the model before and after modification. The results of the analysis showed that the vibrations that occurred were still within the permitted limits based on the ISO 6954 standard
