Abstract
Telah berhasil disintesis ligan hidrazon (H2L) dan kompleks Co(II)-hidrazon (Co(H2L)). Ligan yang diperoleh berupa padatan berwarna putih kekuningan dari hasil reaksi tiosemikarbazida dan salisiladehida. Kompleks diperoleh dari hasil reaksi CoCl26H2O dan ligan H2L menghasilkan padatan serbuk berwarna coklat tua. Analisis FTIR menunjukkan adanya ikatan antara logam dan ligan berupa Co-O, Co-N, dan Co-Cl masing-masing pada bilangan gelombang 624, 502, dan 470 cm-1. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa ligan menyumbangkan PEB ke atom pusat kobalt. Kompleks menyerap sinar UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 422 nm yang merupakan transisi d-d pada wilayah tampak. Analisis kemagnetan menunjukkan harga momen magnet kompleks bernilai sebesar 1,94 BM yang mengindikasikan bahwa kompleks bersifat paramagnetik dan memiliki geometri segiempat planar. Fragmentasi MS menunjukkan perbandingan mol logam dan ligan (1:1) dan rumus molekul [Co(H2L)(Cl)]∙H2O. Hasil ini didukung oleh analisis TGA yang menginformasikan bahwa kompleks terdekomposisi pada suhu 264-276°C. Karakterisasi sampel dengan XRD powder menunjukkan bahwa kompleks memiliki struktur kristal triklinik. Ligan dan kompleks hasil sintesis berpotensi sebagai agen antikanker.

Hydrazone ligand (H2L) and Co(II)-hydrazone complex (Co(H2L)) have been successfully synthesized. The ligand obtained is a white solid from the reaction of thiosemicarbazide and salicyladehide. Complexes obtained from the reaction of CoCl26H2O and H2L ligand produce dark brown solids. FTIR analysis showed the presence of bonds between metals and ligands in the form of Co-O, Co-N, and Co-Cl at wave numbers 624, 502, and 470 cm-1 respectively. This result indicates that the ligand donates PEB to the cobalt center atom. The complex absorbs UV-Vis light at a wavelength of 422 nm which is d-d transition in the visible region. Magnetic analysis shows the price of the complex's magnetic moment is 1.94 BM, indicating that the complex is paramagnetic and has a square planar geometry. MS fragmentation showed the mole ratio of metal and ligand (1:1) and the molecular formula [Co(H2L)(Cl)]∙H2O. This result is supported by TGA analysis which informs that the complex decomposed at 264-276°C Characterization of the sample with XRD powder shows that the complex has a triclinic crystal structure. The synthesized ligands and complexes have potential as anticancer agents.
