Abstract

Trimming barge adalah jenis tongkang yang dirancang khusus untuk penyesuaian distribusi muatan atau trimming material yang diangkut. Sementara itu, crane barge merupakan tongkang yang dilengkapi dengan sistem crane pada deck, yang berfungsi untuk memuat, membongkar, serta mengangkat material atau peralatan pendukung. Proses konversi dari trimming barge menjadi crane barge melibatkan modifikasi struktural yang signifikan, termasuk pemasangan sistem crane pada deck tongkang. Selain itu, diperlukan penambahan reinforcement untuk crawler crane guna menahan beban tambahan crane sebesar 424 ton dalam kondisi statis. Metode elemen hingga (finite element method) digunakan untuk menganalisis distribusi tegangan dan deformasi pada struktur yang telah dimodifikasi. Data penelitian ini berasal dari data aktual proses konversi crane barge. Untuk memastikan keselamatan dan keandalan struktur, analisis dilakukan berdasarkan ABS Rules Classification, dengan material yang digunakan adalah ABS grade A steel, sesuai dengan spesifikasi mechanical properties. Dalam pembangunan konstruksi laut, analisis kekuatan struktur menjadi aspek yang sangat penting untuk memastikan desain mampu menahan beban tanpa mengalami kegagalan. Metode elemen hingga digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kekuatan konstruksi kapal dengan efisiensi tinggi dan menyederhanakan proses perhitungan. Studi ini secara khusus mengevaluasi kekuatan struktur sebelum dan sesudah proses konversi menjadi crane barge, termasuk analisis pengaruh penambahan crawler crane reinforcement.

A trimming barge is a specialized type of barge designed to adjust the distribution of cargo or trimming materials being transported. Meanwhile, a crane barge is a barge equipped with a crane system on its deck, serving to load, unload, and lift materials or supporting equipment. The conversion process from a trimming barge to a crane barge involves significant structural modifications, including the installation of a crane system on the barge deck. Additionally, reinforcement is required for the crawler crane to withstand the additional static load of 424 tons. The Finite Element Method (FEM) is employed to analyze the stress distribution and deformation in the modified structure. This study is based on actual data from a crane barge conversion process. To ensure structural safety and reliability, the analysis follows the ABS Rules for Classification, with the material used being ABS Grade A steel, in accordance with specified mechanical properties. In marine construction, structural strength analysis is a critical aspect to ensure that the design can withstand loads without failure. The Finite Element Method offers an efficient approach to evaluating vessel structural integrity while simplifying calculations. This study specifically evaluates the structural strength before and after the conversion into a crane barge, including the impact of adding crawler crane reinforcement.
