Abstract

Metafora adalah majas (bagian dari gaya bahasa) yang digunakan menjelaskan sesuatu melalui perumpamaan dan perbandingan. Arsitektur metafora adalah sebuah bahasa untuk mengatakan sesuatu melalui ungkapan bentuk-bentuk visual yang dihasilkannya, dengan menggabungkan makna puitis metafora dalam bahasa perancangan arsitektur. Singkatnya, arsitektur metafora merupakan gaya arsitektur yang mengambil bentuk dari kiasan atau perumpamaan dari sesuatu. Salah satu sumber domain metafora arsitektur dapat diambil melalui aspek sejarah. Sejarah yang diangkat dalam perancangan ini adalah Indonesia di masa Orde Baru. Dengan pendekatan naratif, bangunan seakan bercerita agar pengguna dapat merasakan masa-masa sejarah tersebut. Untuk mendukung pendekatan tersebut, metode metafora dipilih sebagai metode implementasi dari narasi ke dalam bangunan arsitektur. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menghadirkan sejarah di tengah-tengah masyarakat—dapat diakses oleh seluruh orang, dapat diingat dalam jangka waktu panjang dan berkelanjutan, serta dapat dijadikan sumber pembelajaran.

Metaphor is a figure of speech (part of a style of language) used to explain something through analogies and comparisons. Metaphor architecture is a language to say something through the expression of the visual forms it produces, by combining the poetic meaning of metaphors in the language of architectural design. In short, metaphor architecture is an architectural style that takes the form of an allusion or parable of something. One source of the domain of architectural metaphors can be taken through historical aspects. The history raised in this design is Indonesia during Orde Baru. With a narrative approach, the building seems to tell a story so that users can feel those historical periods. To support this approach, the metaphor method was chosen as the method of implementing narratives into architectural buildings. This design is expected to present history in the midst of society—accessible to everyone, can be remembered in the long term and sustainably, and of course can be used as a source of learning.
