Abstract

Keberadaan sumber daya alam agregat batu pecah sebagai material konstruksi perkerasan jalan semakin lama semakin berkurang. Di sisi lain, pembangunan infrastruktur jalan yang cukup pesat di Indonesia membuat semakin menipisnya agregat alami batu pecah ini. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya lain dalam hal penggunaan agregat sebagai material konstruksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat agregat buatan berbahan dasar fly ash sebagai material konstruksi perkerasan jalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa agregat buatan ini belum memenuhi persyaratan Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2010 rev 3 sebagai material perkerasan jalan yaitu untuk nilai kelekatan dan penyerapan air. Nilai kelekatan masih di bawah 95%, sedangkan besarnya penyerapan air masih di atas 3%. Sedangkan persyaratan yang memenuhi Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2010 rev 3 adalah nilai abrasi dan kekekalan agregat (soundness). Nilai abrasi masih di bawah 40%, sedangkan nilai kekekalan agregat masih di bawah 12%. Berdasarkan perbandingan harga yang telah dilakukan antara agregat buatan dengan agregat alami batu pecah, menunjukkan disparitas harga sebesar Rp. 149.000,00/ kg. Walaupun demikan, agregat buatan ini merupakan salah satu solusi yang bisa dikembangkan untuk mengurangi dampak lingkungan akibat keberadaan fly ash yang cukup melimpah di Indonesia. ==================================================================================== The existence of natural resources as crushed stone aggregate as construction material progressively reduced. On the other hand, the construction of road infrastructure rapidly in Indonesia is getting increased concerns about the depletion of natural aggregate. So, it’s required another effort in terms of aggregate use as construction material. This study aims to create an artificial aggregate made from fly ash as a material pavement. The results showed that the artificial aggregate is not yet qualify as a pavement material. This happens because the affinity value and the amount of water absorption is not eligible based on Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2010 rev 3. Affinity value is still below 95%, while the amount of water absorption is still above 3%. However, abration and soundness value have shown encouraging results. Abration value is still below 40%, while the value of soundness is still below 12% based on Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2010 rev 3. Based on price comparisons between artificial aggregates and natural aggregate, it’s showing that economic value of artificial aggregate have not been replace the role of natural aggregate yet with a price disparity that reached Rp. 149,000.00/ kg. Even though, this artificial aggregate is one solution that can be developed to reduce environmental damage due to the volume of fly ash which is relatively abundant in Indonesia.
