Abstract

Perubahan iklim menjadi isu yang sangat penting bagi dunia pada abad ke-21 ini. Ketergantungan terhadap penggunaan energi fosil menjadi salah satu penyebab dari perubahan iklim, dan energi baru dan terbarukan dapat menjadi solusi untuk menghadapi perubahan iklim. Negara Indonesia sendiri disisi lain masih bergantung pada sumber daya energi fosil yang di mana seharusnya Indonesia mulai beralih menggunakan energi baru terbarukan. Faktor penting dari rendahnya pemanfaatan energi baru dan terbarukan di Indonesia adalah masih kurangnya sosialisasi dari pemerintah mengenai energi baru dan terbarukan ini kepada masyarakat terutama bagi remaja yang akan memasuki atau baru memasuki usia produktif. Generasi muda memiliki potensi besar untuk menjadi sumber daya manusia yang unggul di masa depan, termasuk di bidang energi baru dan terbarukan. Sebagai usaha untuk mengkomunikasikan informasi energi terbarukan, penulis melakukan perancangan serial video ekspaliner motion graphic energi terbarukan sebagai media informasi kepada remaja usia 12-17 tahun. Perancangan video eksplainer ini menggunakan beberapa metode penelitian. Studi literatur mengenai energi terbarukan, video eksplainer dan motion graphic, melakukan depth interview kepada stakeholder perancangan, studi eksisting, studi komparator terhadap kampanye sejenis, perancangan konsep desain dengan studi eksperimental, serta user testing dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang diberikan kepada remaja usia 12-17 tahun. Studi ini berdampak pada serial video eksplainer yaitu “Mulai dari Sini”. Pada episode pertama akan membahas “Memahami Sumber Energi Bersih”, episode dua “Kesadaran Penggunaan Energi”, episode tiga “Aksi untuk Energi Bersih”. Ketiga episode itu akan memberikan informasi mengenai energi terbarukan kepada remaja usia 12-17 tahun. Climate change is a very important issue for the world in the 21st century. Dependence on the use of fossil fuels is one of the causes of climate change, and new and renewable energy can be a solution to deal with climate change. Indonesia itself, on the other hand, still relies on fossil fuel resources, which should have started to switch to using new and renewable energy. An important factor in the low utilization of new and renewable energy in Indonesia is the lack of socialization from the government regarding this new and renewable energy to the community, especially for teenagers who are about to enter or have just entered productive age. The younger generation has great potential to become superior human resources in the future, including in the field of new and renewable energy. As an effort to communicate information on renewable energy, the author designed a series of motion graphic explainer videos of renewable energy as an information medium for teenagers aged 12-17 years. The design of this explainer video uses several research methods. Literature study on renewable energy, explainer videos and motion graphics, conducting in-depth interviews with design stakeholders, existing studies, comparative studies of similar campaigns, designing design concepts with experimental studies, and user testing using questionnaires given to teenagers aged 12-17 years. This study has an impact on the explainer video series, namely "Start from Here". The first episode will discuss "Understanding Clean Energy Sources", episode two "Energy Use Awareness", episode three "Action for Clean Energy". The three episodes will provide information about renewable energy to teenagers aged 12-17 years. This design will only focus on the first episode, namely "Start from Here: Understanding Clean Energy Sources"
