Abstract
Adopsi Artificial Intelligence (AI) meningkatkan efisiensi dalam industri desain. Namun, penerapan AI tidak sepenuhnya diterima secara positif oleh desainer. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui preferensi penggunaan AI oleh desainer produk dan grafis, kelebihan dan kekurangannya, serta etika dalam penggunaan AI. Pendekatan yang digunakan yakni kualitatif dengan metode design thinking. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui in depth interview dengan para desainer produk dan grafis yang kemudian divalidasi melalui Forum Group Discussion (FGD) dengan para Ahli dalam bidang AI. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa preferensi desainer pengguna AI dan non-pengguna AI, mengetahui apa kelebihan dan kekurangan penggunaan AI pada desain produk dan grafis, rekomendasi pekerjaan yang sesuai untuk desainer pengguna AI dan non AI, serta penyusunan etika desainer dalam penggunaan AI. Penelitian ini mendukung teori Diffusion Of Innovate (DOI). Temuan ini merekomendasikan beberapa profesi untuk menggunakan AI dan tidak menggunakan AI, serta menyatakan bahwa AI dapat mempercepat proses desain produk dan grafis. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan bagi berbagai pihak, termasuk pemerintah, industri kreatif, dan para desainer, dalam merancang kebijakan dan strategi yang mendukung pemanfaatan AI secara optimal.

The adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can improve efficiency in design industry. However, the application of AI is not fully accepted positively by designers. The purpose of this research is to find out the preferences of product and graphic designers in using AI, its advantages and disadvantages, and ethics in using AI. The approach used is qualitative with design thinking method. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with product and graphic designers which were then validated through Forum Group Discussion (FGD) with experts in the field of AI. The results of this research are the preferences of AI user and non-AI user designers, knowing what the advantages and disadvantages of using AI in product and graphic design, appropriate job recommendations for AI and non-AI user designers, and the preparation of designer ethics in the use of AI. This research supports the Diffusion Of Innovate (DOI) theory. The findings recommend some professions to use AI and not use AI, and state that AI can speed up the product and graphic design process. This research provides insights for various parties, including the government, creative industry, and designers, in designing policies and strategies that support the optimal utilization of AI.
