Abstract

ThreeChain Hull merupakan jenis lambung kapal "hybrid" atau penggabungan antara geometri Planning Hull dan Trimaran. Pemaduan kedua jenis bentuk lambung kapal ini dimaksudkan untuk meminimalisir efek negatif lambung planning yang mengbasilkan sudut kemiringan yang besar pada saat kapal bermanuver dengan pengaplikasian "skirt" bergeometri trimaran sebagai penstabil manuver (rolling damper). Dengan perpaduan antara Planning Hull dan Trimaran ini diharapkan kapal tersebut mendapatkan 'lifting force' dari planning hull untuk meminimalisir tahanan serta kestabilan saat bermanuver dengan Trimaran. Penelitian yang akan dilakukan pada kajian tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa variasi bentuk ThreeChain Hull menyangkut efek lifting force (planning hull), tahanan yang terjadi dan kecepatan fluida yang melewati ThreeChain Hull. Kemudian akan dilakukan studi optimalisasi dan modiftkasi bentuk ThreeChain Hull dengan mempergunakan pendekatan CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) sehingga diharapkan akan mengbasilkan evaluasi ilmiah mengenai bentuk ThreeChain Hull yang lebih optimal dan rekomendasi bagi pihak pengembang ataupun referensi untuk penelitian selanjutnya.

ThreeChain is a "hybrid" ship hull type or the combination of Planning Hull and Trimaran geometry. The combination of both ship hull types were aimed to minimize the planning hull's negative effect which cause a big rolling degree when this ship do a maneuver by a trimaran "skirt" geometry as a rolling damper. With the combination between Planning and Trimaran hull, it expect that this ship will get the lifting force from planning hull to minimize ship resistance and a better maneuvering stability cause by trimaran. This final project research's objective is to analyze the ThreeChain Hull's shape variation in the aspect of its lifting force effect (planning hull), ship resistance result, and fluid velocity which flow over the ThreeChain Hull. Then, the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) approach will be used to study it's optimalize and ThreeChain Hull shape modification which is propose to results a scientific evaluation about the better ThreeChain Hull's shape and recommendation for the next reseacher or the further research.
