Abstract

Parasetamol merupakan limbah farmasi yang kadar konsentrasinya di lautan cukup tinggi. Hal tersebut dapat memberi dampak buruk pada biota laut, khususnya kerang.Limbah parasetamol dapat didegradasi menggunakan material fotokatalis komposit CuO/rGO. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan rGO terhadap sifat fotokatalis untuk mendegradasi parasetamol. Material CuO disintesis menggunakan metode sol gel. rGO menggunakan metode modified Hummer’s. Komposit CuO/rGO menggunakan metode hidrotermal. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian fotokatalitik untuk mendegradasi parasetamol. Pengujian yang dilakukan meliputi diantaranya, XRD, FTIR, SEM/EDS dan UV-Vis. Komposit CuO/rGO berhasil isintesis, terbukti fasa CuO dan fasa rGO teridentifikasi pada pengujian XRD. Ikatan karbon dan CuO terdeteksi pada pengujian FTIR. Pada pengujian SEM, CuO berbentuk seperti bola kecil dan rGO berbentuk seperti lembaran. Unsur Oksigen,
karbon dan Tembaga terdeteksi pada hasil EDS. Hasil pengujian fotokatalitik menunjukkan komposit rGO/CuO 15% menjadi katalis paling baik dalam mendegradasi paracetamol dengan persen degradasi sebesar 18% selama waktu fotokatalitik 60 menit

Paracetamol is a pharmaceutical waste whose concentration levels in the ocean are quite high. This can have a negative impact on marine biota, especially shellfish. Paracetamol waste can be degraded using CuO/rGO composite photocatalyst material. This study aims to determine the effect of adding rGO to the photocatalyst properties to degrade paracetamol. CuO material was synthesized using the sol gel method. rGO uses the modified Hummer's method. CuO/rGO composite using hydrothermal method. Then a photocatalytic test was carried out to degrade paracetamol. The tests carried out include, among others, XRD, FTIR, SEM/EDS and UV-Vis. The CuO/rGO composite was successfully synthesized, it was proven that the CuO phase and rGO phase were identified on XRD testing. Carbon and CuO bonds were detected in the FTIR test. In the SEM test, CuO is shaped like a small ball and rGO is shaped like a sheet. Elements of Oxygen, Carbon and Copper were detected in the EDS results. The results of photocatalytic testing showed that 15% rGO/CuO composite became the best catalyst in degrading paracetamol with a degradation percentage of 18% during a photocatalytic time of 60 minutes.
