Abstract

In the rapidly evolving digital era, the demand for high-quality visual content, such as commercial photography, is becoming increasingly important. Photography plays a crucial role in various sectors, including business, marketing, and personal branding. Many companies and institutions require commercial photography for advertising, promotions, and publications. However, mistakes in the photography process can lead to production delays and customer complaints. Asia Creative Digital, a commercial photography agency, faces challenges in meeting consumer demands for high-quality visuals. The inability to consistently produce high-quality photos leads to rework, disrupting the workflow and increasing operational costs. Therefore, quality control is needed to determine whether the photography process is statistically controlled. Using the Demerit Control Chart, defects are categorized into three classes: Class A (critical defects), which includes image sharpness, overexposure, and underexposure, Class B (moderate defects), which includes poor composition, and Class C (minor defects), which includes inaccurate colors. The study shows that the process is controlled but not capable, as the phase I p ̂_PK^% value is 0.248 and phase II is 0.312. This indicates that while the process capability index has increased, it remains incapable. Furthermore, the cause of the process being incapable is the identification of cause-and-effect factors, often linked to human factors such as the photographer's skills, experience, and knowledge. Employee performance evaluations are conducted every three months with presentations to the division head. This study compares image production processes during two phases: January-March and April-June 2024, to assess the quality development of the photography process. This analysis is expected to help the company maintain and improve photo production quality, avoiding negative impacts on customers and the agency's image.
