Abstract

PT. XYZ merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam industri manufaktur. Proses produksi pada PT. XYZ menggunakan investment casting. Investment casting diterapkan oleh perusahaan untuk menghasilkan produk dengan akurasi yang tinggi dan detail yang rumit, seperti parts industri, dan implan untuk tulang. PT. XYZ mendapat pesanan custom product cable protector sebanyak 12.665 unit. Untuk mencapai target tersebut. Rencana produksi setiap minggunya sampai bulan maret adalah 1000 unit. Namun pada proses produksinya diperlukan waktu yang cukup lama. Setelah dilakukan analisa cycle time tiap prosesnya, waktu proses produksi paling lama adalah proses dipping yaitu selama 3 hari. Maka dari itu diperlukan analisis yang mendalam untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut dengan melakukan pengamatan dan analisa kombinasi faktor yang berpengaruh saat proses pengeringan. Untuk mengkaji faktor penyebab waktu proses dipping yang memakan waktu yang lama, dilakukan studi lapangan untuk mendapatkan data temperatur, dan kelembapan relatif. Setelah itu, data yang didapatkan diolah untuk mengetahui akar permasalahan utama tersebut. Dari penelitian ini hasil yang diharapkan adalah didapatkannya rekomendasi yang tepat bagi perusahaan sehingga dapat mereduksi cycle time proses dipping produksi perusahaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan hasil perhitungan dengan desain faktorial dapat disimpulkan bahwa temperatur dan kelembapan berpengaruh terhadap nilai drying rate, serta mengatur kondisi ruangan dengan temperatur yang tinggi dan kelembapan relatif yang rendah dapat mempercepat nilai drying rate.

PT. XYZ is a company that specialized in manufacture industry. The company’s production process is applying investment casting method. This method has been applied to obtain precise and intricate design products, such as industrial parts, and orthopedic implants. PT. XYZ received custom order of cable protector with the amount of 12.665 units. To fulfill this order, a production plan of 1000 units per week was determined until March. However, the production process has been disappointingly slow and time-consuming. Subsequent examinations of cycle time were held during each process, indicating that dipping process is a time consuming process which lasted for three days. One of the methods to accelerate the drying process is by regulating the dry-bulb temperature in room temperature condition and the relative humidity is additionally kept down. Therefore, an in-depth analysis is needed to solve these problems by observing and analyzing the combination of factors that affecting the drying process. To examine the factors causing the long time of the dipping process, a field study was conducted to obtain data on temperature and relative humidity. After that, the data obtained is processed to find out the root cause of the main problem. From this research, the expected result is to obtain the right recommendations for the company so that it can reduce the cycle time of the company's production dipping process. Based on the results of research and discussion of the calculation results with factorial design, it can be concluded that temperature and humidity are affecting the drying rate of ceramic, and the setting condition within high temperature and low relative humidity can accelerate the drying rate value.
