Abstract

The development of remote laboratory technology has enabled convenient access and real-time control of experimental equipment via the internet, allowing for greater efficiency in learning and research processes. In this final project, a comparison was carried out between the use of PID and Fuzzy control methods to determine the amount of energy consumption required when operating a remote laboratory. The system is designed to control the output voltage of a DC generator that is coupled with a three-phase motor to power incandescent lamp loads. The methodology involves hardware and software design, implementation of PID and Fuzzy control algorithms, and testing of energy consumption under varying lamp loads and control methods. Measurements were taken to analyze the stability of the DC generator’s output voltage and the accuracy of setpoint achievement using both PID and Fuzzy control methods. The test results show that the PID control method outperforms Fuzzy control in maintaining output voltage stability and achieving more efficient energy consumption, especially under higher load variations. The advantage ratio in terms of voltage stability and energy efficiency of the PID method compared to the Fuzzy method stands at 4:1. Therefore, the PID control method is more recommended to support future energy-saving efforts in remote laboratory operations.
