Abstract

The manufacturing industry sector in Indonesia is a sector that is experiencing very rapid development so competition is increasingly competitive. To remain competitive, companies must be able to meet consumer needs by producing quality products, competitive prices, on time, and with good service. CV Tanteri is a manufacturing company engaged in the manufacture of ceramic tableware that applies a make-to-order system. The problem faced by CV Tanteri at this time is the high percentage of defects, resulting in delays in order completion which has an impact on customer complaints. Plate is a type of product in CV Tanteri that has the highest or dominant defect rate with a defect percentage of 46%. There are three types of defects dominant in plate products. The purpose of this study is to determine the sigma level, and DPMO and to solve the problem of high dominant defects in plate products at CV Tanteri. To find solutions to the problems being faced by CV Tanteri, the concept of theory and the DMAIC method in Six Sigma and Quality Improvement Matrix (QIM) are integrated. Based on the analysis of the results obtained with Six Sigma, CV Tanteri found an average DPMO value of 22459 with a sigma level of 3. With the Quality Improvement Matrix 1 method, the root cause of the defect problem in plate products at CV Tanteri was obtained and with the Quality Improvement Matrix 2, the most effective improvement action was obtained to solve the problems being faced by CV Tanteri.
