Abstract

This study discusses the inventory of consumable parts at an aircraft maintenance company in Bandung. The problem that occurs is that companies often face problems with stock shortages. Then another problem is in the warehouse excess stock of materials that have an expiration date. So that it is detrimental to the company financially. To overcome this, this study categorizes materials using the ABC and ADI CV2 analysis methods to group items based on certain interests or characteristics. After obtaining a demand pattern including smooth, intermittent, erractic, and lumpy, forecasting is carried out according to the demand pattern using Exponential Smoothing, Croston, Syntetos Boylan Approximation, and Teuter Syntetos Babai. The selection of this method is based on the characteristics of demand data that has no trend, is irregular and often contains zero demand. After that, it is analyzed and the level of forecast accuracy is tested using MAD, MSE, and MAPE. The results obtained that in the classification with ABC analysis, consumable parts in category A, namely EASTMAN-TO2380, S15/90, RENLAM-LY560 + REN-HY560-TS, ARDROX9PR5, and PR1782B2 require special attention because they have the largest contribution to the overall total value and consumable parts in PT XYZ generally have a lumpy demand pattern. Then in the ES, Croston, SBA, and TSB forecasting methods, each offers its own advantages based on the specific characteristics of the demand pattern applied.
