Abstract

Kegiatan magang industri ini dilaksanakan di PT Petro Jordan Abadi, sebuah perusahaan patungan yang bergerak di bidang produksi asam fosfat dan bahan kimia lainnya. Salah satu komponen penting dalam proses produksinya adalah bucket elevator M-2205, yang berfungsi mengangkut phosphate rock dalam grinding area menuju proses selanjutnya. Permasalahan yang sering terjadi pada alat ini berkaitan dengan penurunan kinerja akibat ausnya komponen mekanik serta kapasitas angkut yang tidak optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami proses maintenance bucket elevator dan menganalisis kapasitas angkutnya melalui pendekatan teoritis dan observasi lapangan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perawatan rutin seperti penggantian packing gland, bearing, dan alignment motor-gearbox dapat meningkatkan efisiensi operasi. Selain itu, perhitungan kapasitas aktual dibandingkan kapasitas desain menunjukkan adanya penyimpangan yang perlu ditangani melalui perbaikan teknis. Kesimpulannya, perawatan preventif dan evaluasi performa kapasitas merupakan aspek krusial dalam menjaga kelancaran operasional bucket elevator dan mendukung efisiensi proses produksi di pabrik phosphoric acid.

This industrial internship was conducted at PT Petro Jordan Abadi, a joint venture company engaged in the production of phosphoric acid and other chemical products. One of the critical components in its production process is the bucket elevator M-2205, which functions to transport phosphate rock within the grinding area to subsequent processing stages. Common issues with this equipment include decreased performance due to worn mechanical components and suboptimal transport capacity. This study aims to understand the maintenance process of the bucket elevator and analyze its material handling capacity through theoretical calculations and field observations. The results indicate that routine maintenance such as replacing packing glands, bearings, and performing motor–gearbox alignment can improve operational efficiency. Furthermore, a comparison between actual and design capacities reveals discrepancies that require technical adjustments. In conclusion, preventive maintenance and capacity performance evaluation are essential to ensure smooth operation of the bucket elevator and to support overall production efficiency in the phosphoric acid plant.
