Abstract
Sungai Porong memiliki peran strategis sebagai jalur transportasi dan sumber penghidupan di Sidoarjo, namun bencana Lumpur Sidoarjo (LUSI) pada tahun 2006 mengubah morfologinya seperti pendangkalan seta runtuhnya dinding pada tepi sungai akibat pembuangan lumpur ke aliran sungai. Penelitian ini bertujuan memetakan batimetri dan profil Sungai Porong, serta menganalisis ketebalan dan karakteristik sedimen lunak melalui integrasi data sub-bottom profiler dan coring. Metode utama yang digunakan adalah sub-bottom profiler di mana metode ini menggunakan gelombang akustik untuk merekam bentuk dasar sungai dan lapisan sedimen di bawah dasar sungai tersebut. Metode sub-bottom profiler digunakan frekuensi 10 KHz dan didukung oleh data coring, analisis butiran sedimen serta kecepatan aliran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kedalaman Sungai Porong bervariasi antara 1 hingga 10 meter dengan ketebalan sedimen lunak di 0,53 hingga 5.5 meter. Sedimen Sungai Porong didominasi pasir, lempung, dan lanau sebagai material suspensi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlu adanya perhatian pemerintah setempat terhadap titik-titik rawan longsoran tepi sungai dan kerusakan dinding tepi sungai akibat erosi sedimen lunak, sebagai dasar mitigasi pendangkalan dan banjir pasca-LUSI.

The Porong River has a strategic role as a transportation route and source of livelihood in Sidoarjo, but the Sidoarjo Mud disaster (LUSI) in 2006 changed its morphology such as siltation and the collapse of the walls on the river bank due to the dumping of mud into the river flow. This study aims to map the bathymetry and profile of the Porong River, as well as analyze the thickness and characteristics of soft sediments through the integration of sub-bottom profiler and coring data. The main method used is the sub-bottom profiler where this method uses acoustic waves to record the shape of the riverbed and the sediment layer under the riverbed. The sub-bottom profiler method uses a frequency of 10 KHz and is supported by coring data, sediment granular analysis and flow velocity. The results showed that the depth of the Porong River varied between 1 to 10 meters with the thickness of soft sediment at 0.53 to 5.5 meters. The sediment of the Porong River is dominated by sand, clay, and silt as suspension material. The results of this study show that there is a need for local government attention to riverbank avalanche-prone points and riverbank wall damage due to soft sediment erosion, as a basis for mitigating siltation and flooding after LUSI.
