Abstract

An upstream oil and gas company in Riau, processes vital transformer inventory asset data to manage the amount of transformer availability in the process of outgoing and incoming transformer activities in the Company's operations. Effective transformer asset management plays an important role to ensure the reliability of Electricity supply, reduce the risk of failure, and optimise maintenance costs. The complexity of manual data and information about transformer assets can make it difficult to make optimal decisions. Data on transformer movement activities is obtained using a more thorough approach to inventory analysis is needed especially to distinguish fast, slow, and non-moving items (FSN/Fast-Slow-Non Moving). The purpose of FSN analysis is to consider the quantity, consumption rate of the item and how often the transformer is used or just standing still (ready line). With the known consumption level data, it can then be analysed using the Analysis Based Costing (ABC) method with the aim of developing a business intelligence-based transformer asset management dashboard that is effective, efficient, and in accordance with their business needs. This dashboard is expected to help companies better manage transformer assets, improve the reliability of electricity supply, and optimise maintenance costs in upstream oil and gas companies.
