Abstract
Saat ini, dalam menjalankan layanan cloud, Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG) masih menggunakan platform virtualisasi komersial VMware. Namun adanya kebijakan efisiensi anggaran mendorong perlunya alternatif berbasis open source yang lebih ekonomis. Penelitianini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis komparatif terhadap tiga platform manajemen cloud open source, yaitu XCP-ng / Xen Orchestra, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM),dan CloudStack dalam menjalankan layanan private cloud BIG, khususnya sistem Palapa. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui proses implementasi, migrasi VM, serta evaluasi performa teknis meliputi komputasi (CPU, memory, disk I/O), jaringan internal dan eksternal, serta skalabilitas terhadap beban virtual machine (VM) dan pengguna aplikasi web. Alat yang digunakan dalam proses evaluasi adalah Sysbench, Iperf3, dan JMeter. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing platform cloud memiliki keunggulan yang berbeda. CloudStack memiliki performa komputasi terbaik dengan rata-rata kecepatan CPU single thread sebesar 4868,80 Events/s, multi thread sebesar 9688,48 Events/s, kecepatan memory read sebesar 27647,06 MB/s, write sebesar 27883,00 MB/s, serta kecepatan disk I/O read dan write sebesar 37,03 MiB/s. Sementara itu, XCP-ng memiliki performa jaringan internal terbaik dengan kecepatan transfer data mencapai 11,30 GBytes/s, dan menunjukkan ketahanan paling stabil terhadap peningkatan beban pengguna hingga 2000 user, dengan error rate maksimum sebesar 4,03% dan response time tertinggi 7171,49 ms. Platform OLVM menunjukkan performa yang seimbang, meskipun memiliki kelemahan pada aspek I/O dengan kecepatan read/write hanya 1,86 MiB/s saat 1 VM aktif, dan mengalami peningkatan error rate lebih awal mulai dari user ke-1400, dengan nilai puncak response time sebesar 7403,45 ms pada 2000 user.

Currently, the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) operates its cloud services using the commercial virtualization platform VMware. However, due to government budget efficiency policies, there is a growing need for a more cost-effective, open-source alternative. This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of three open-source cloud management platforms XCP-ng / Xen Orchestra, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM), and CloudStack in supporting BIG's private cloud services, particularly the Palapa system. The evaluation was carried out through the implementation process, VM migration, and performance testing covering computation (CPU, memory, disk I/O), internal and external networking, as well as scalability under virtual machine (VM) and web application user load. The tools used in the evaluation process include Sysbench, Iperf3, and JMeter. The evaluation results show that each cloud platform has distinct advantages. CloudStack demonstrated the best computational performance, with average CPU single-thread speed of 4868.80 events/s, multi-thread speedof 9688.48 events/s, memory read speed of 27647.06 MB/s, write speed of 27883.00 MB/s, and disk I/O read/write speed of 37.03 MiB/s. Meanwhile, XCP-ng showed the best internal network performance with a data transfer rate reaching 11.30 GBytes/s and exhibited the most stable resilience under increasing user loads up to 2000 users, with a maximum error rate of4.03% and peak response time of 7171.49 ms. OLVM demonstrated balanced performance across various aspects, although it showed weaknesses in I/O with read/write speed limited to only 1.86 MiB/s when 1 VM was active, and experienced earlier error rate increases startingat 1400 users, with a peak response time of 7403.45 ms at 2000 users.
