Abstract
Jalan Ahmad Yani berfungsi sebagai jalan kolektor primer yang menghubungan jalan K.S Tubun, jalan R.A Kartini, jalan Tambun Bungai, jalan Ais Nasution dan juga jalan W. Sudirohusodo dengan melayani jenis kendaraan kendaraan berat, kendaraan ringan, sepeda motor dan kendaraan tak bermotor. Mengingat penyusunan Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 1997 (MKJI-97) didasarkan pada data yang terbatas terutama untuk ruas jalan perkotaan. Jalan Ahmad Yani terletak di kota Palangka Raya dengan penduduk ± 299.000 jiwa merupakan kota sedang. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa penyesuaian yang harus dilakukan pada hasil hitungan menurrut MKJI-97 untuk ruas jalan Ahmad Yani yang terletak dalam kota sedang dengan menganalisis karakteristik lalu-lintasnya. Dalam analisis karakteristik lalu-lintas ruas jalan Ahmad Yani ini digunakan model Greenshields, Greenberg, dan Underwood.Survei ini dilakukan untuk semua jenis kendaraan yang lewat di jalan tersebut dengan periode waktu pengamatan 15 menitan dan dilaksanakan zselama 1 (satu) hari melalui beberapa tahapan perhitungan diperoleh data volume (flow), data kecepatan rata-rata ruang (space mean-speed) dan data kepadatan (density), lalu dilakukan analisis karakteristik lalu lintas dengan 3 model pendekatan (Greenshields, Greenberg dan Underwood). Berdasarkan tinjauan kecepatan dan kepadatan optimum, model Greenberg dan model Underwood relatif cocok menggambarkan karakteristik lalu – lintasnya. Model Greenberg dengan volume maksimum = 2693,89698 smp/jam, model Underwood dengan volume maksimum = 2781,71485 smp/jam, sehingga mendekati karakteristik lalu – lintasnya.

Ahmad Yani road functions as a primary collector road that connects K.S Tubun road, R.A Kartini road, Tambun Bungai road, Ais Nasution road and also W. Sudirohusodo road by serving the type of vehicle of heavy and light vehicles, motorcycles and unmotorised. As The Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual 1997 was formulated based on the limited data, especially for the urban road. Ahmad Yani roadis located in the city of Palangka Raya with a population of ± 299.000 people, which is a medium-sized city. So this research aims to find out how many adjustments must be made to the calculation results according to MKJI-97 for the Ahmad Yani road section which is located in a medium-sized city by analyzing the traffic characteristics of the Ahmad Yani road, the Greenshields model, the Greenber model and Underwood model were used. The survey is carried out for all types of vehicles passing on the road with an observation time period of 15 minutes and within an observation time span of 1 days, through several calculation stages, volume (flow) data, space mean-speed data and density data, then analysis of traffic characteristics was carried out using 3 approach models (Greenshields, Greenberg and Underwood). Based on a review of optimum speed and density, the Greenberg model and Underwood model are relatively suitable for describing traffic characteristics. The Greenberg model with maximum volume = 2693,89698 smp/hour and the Underwood model with a maximum volume = 2781,71485 smp/hour,so it is close to the traffic characteristics.
