Abstract

Praktik overpricing dalam layanan becak di kawasan wisata menimbulkan ketidaknyamanan bagi wisatawan dan merugikan pengemudi becak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan aplikasi BECATUR untuk meningkatkan pengalaman pengguna serta mendorong keberlanjutan transportasi tradisional. Dengan pendekatan Design Thinking, pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada dua aktor utama, yaitu wisatawan dan tukang becak, di Kota Yogyakarta dan Surabaya. Kebutuhan pengguna diidentifikasi melalui affinity diagram dan pengembangan persona. Wisatawan menginginkan kemudahan reservasi, tarif transparan, dan rasa aman, sedangkan tukang becak berharap memperoleh akses digital ke pelanggan, sistem tarif adil, dan pemantauan pendapatan. Berdasarkan kebutuhan tersebut, dirancang solusi berupa aplikasi BECATUR dengan fitur pemesanan real-time, penilaian layanan, dan peta digital. Pengembangan antarmuka dilakukan secara iteratif dalam dua siklus menggunakan Figma, dengan fokus pada navigasi intuitif dan user flow yang sesuai karakter lokal. Prototipe diuji kepada kedua aktor pengguna, termasuk yang memiliki literasi digital rendah, guna memastikan antarmuka adaptif dan inklusif. Pengujian meliputi pilot, formative, dan summative testing, serta heuristic evaluation berdasarkan prinsip usability. Evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan. Pada wisatawan, skor SUS naik dari 70,66 menjadi 82,5 dan SEQ dari 2,9–6,6 menjadi 6–7. Pada tukang becak, skor SUS meningkat dari 67,75 menjadi 81,25 dan SEQ dari 2,6–6,6 menjadi 6,5–7. Evaluasi heuristik menunjukkan sebagian besar prinsip terpenuhi, meskipun masih perlu perbaikan pada aspek penanganan error. Dengan hasil ini, aplikasi BECATUR terbukti layak dan efektif sebagai solusi digital untuk memperbaiki layanan becak, memberdayakan pengemudi, dan meningkatkan pengalaman wisatawan secara menyeluruh.

The practice of overpricing in pedicab services in tourist areas causes discomfort for tourists and disadvantages pedicab drivers. This study aims to develop the BECATUR application to enhance user experience and promote the sustainability of traditional transportation. Using a Design Thinking approach, data collection was carried out through field observations, interviews, and questionnaires involving two main user groups: tourists and pedicab drivers, in Yogyakarta and Surabaya. User needs were identified through affinity diagrams and persona development. Tourists seek ease of reservation, transparent fares, and a sense of safety, while pedicab drivers hope to gain digital access to customers, fair pricing systems, and tools to monitor their income. Based on these needs, a solution was designed in the form of the BECATUR application, featuring real-time booking, service ratings, and digital maps. The user interface was developed iteratively in two design cycles using Figma, focusing on intuitive navigation and user flows tailored to local characteristics. The prototype was tested on both user groups, including those with low digital literacy, to ensure the interface was adaptive and inclusive. Testing included pilot, formative, and summative evaluations, along with heuristic evaluation based on usability principles. The evaluation showed significant improvements. For tourists, the SUS score increased from 70.66 to 82.5, and SEQ from 2.9–6.6 to 6–7. For pedicab drivers, the SUS score rose from 67.75 to 81.25, and SEQ from 2.6–6.6 to 6.5–7. The heuristic evaluation showed that most usability principles were met, although improvements are still needed in error handling aspects. With these results, BECATUR is proven to be a feasible and effective digital solution to improve pedicab services, empower drivers, and enhance the overall tourist experience.
