Abstract

Penggunaan bahan pelarut pada proses ekstraksi aspal menyebabkan permasalahan pada limbah ekstraksi yang menyebabkan pencemaran tanah dengan kandungan hidrokarbon. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penanggulangan masalah untuk memperbaiki karakteristik dan meningkatkan nilai guna tanah tercemar hidrokarbon. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memperbaiki karakteristik tanah memanfaatkan mikroorganisme bakteri ureolitik. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan mikroorganisme bakteri ureolitik Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus gallinarum, dan mix culture Bacillus subtilis-Staphylococcus gallinarum dengan konsentrasi sebesar 10% v/v. Jenis stimulan yang digunakan ialah cangkang telur dengan konsentrasi sebesar 10% w/w sebagai sumber kalsium karbonat dan menjaga kestabilan pH pada tanah tercemar hidrokarbon. Biomonitoring dilakukan menggunakan tanaman kangkung darat (Ipomea reptans Poir) dan Vetiveria zizanioides. Analisis yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah uji urease, porositas tanah, permeabilitas tanah, Kapasitas Tukar Kation (KTK), SiO2 pada tanah, TPH, TPC, serta parameter pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai kandungan urease penambahan cangkang telur ayam terbaik pada H-15 menggunakan bakteri Bacillus subtilis sebesar 45 U/ml. Bakteri ureolitik Bacillus subtilis dan Staphylococcus gallinarum dengan penambahan cangkang telur memiliki kemampuan dalam peningkatan karakteristik tanah tercemar hidrokarbon dengan laju degradasi TPH sebesar 632 mg/kg/hari. Hasil terbaik adalah variasi tanaman kangkung + Bacillus subtilis + cangkang telur dengan nilai porositas sebesar 44,55%, permeabilitas 16,49 cm/jam, KTK sebesar 5,61 cmol/kg. Kandungan urease pada bakteri ureolitik Bacillus subtilis dan Staphylococcus gallinarum dengan penambahan cangkang telur memiliki pengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman kangkung dan Vetivera Zizainoides. Hasil terbaik adalah BS2 dengan variasi Tanaman Kangkung + Bacillus subtilis + cangkang telur dengan penambahan tinggi yang signifikan di H-15 setinggi 25 cm.

Solvents in the asphalt extraction process causes decomposition of liquid waste which causes soil pollution with hydrocarbon content. Therefore, it is necessary to overcome the problem to improve the characteristics and increase the utility value of hydrocarbon-contaminated soil. The purpose of this study was to improve soil characteristics using ureolytic bacterial microorganisms. This study utilized ureolytic bacterial microorganisms Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus gallinarum, and a mix culture of Bacillus subtilis-Staphylococcus gallinarum with a concentration of 10% v/v. The type of stimulant used was eggshells with a concentration of 10% w/w as a source of calcium carbonate and to maintain pH stability in hydrocarbon-contaminated soil. In addition, there was biomonitoring of Ipomea reptans Poir and Vetiveria zizanioides. The analysis carried out in this study was the urease test, soil porosity, soil permeability, Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), SiO2 in the soil, TPH, TPC, and supporting parameters. The results showed the best value of urease content with chicken egg shell addition on D-15 using Bacillus subtilis bacteria of 45 U/ml. Ureolytic bacteria Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus gallinarum with the addition of egg shells have the ability to improve the characteristics of hydrocarbon-contaminated soil with TPH degradation fow rate 632 mg/kg/day. The best result is the variation of Ipomea reptans Poir + Bacillus subtilis + egg shells with a porosity value of 44.55%, permeability of 16.49 cm/hour, CEC of 5.61 cmol/kg. The urease content in ureolytic bacteria Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus gallinarum with the addition of egg shells has an effect on the height of Ipomea reptans Poir and Vetivera Zizainoides plants. The best result is BS2 with the variation of Ipomea reptans Poir + Bacillus subtilis + egg shells with a significant increase in height on D-15 as high as 25 cm.
