Abstract

Pencemaran air merupakan salah satu isu lingkungan yang menjadi perhatian utama di Indonesia. Dampak dari pencemaran ini tidak hanya memengaruhi keseimbangan sumber daya alam, tetapi juga dapat mengancam kehidupan manusia melalui penurunan kualitas sumber daya alam. PT XYZ sebagai perusahaan penyedia air minum memiliki tanggung jawab tidak hanya dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan air bersih masyarakat, tetapi juga dalam memastikan bahwa proses operasionalnya tidak merusak lingkungan. Namun hingga saat ini, PT XYZ belum menerapkan Sistem Manajemen Lingkungan (SML) berdasarkan standar ISO 14001:2015. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat kesiapan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Minum (IPAM) X di PT XYZ dalam mengimplementasikan ISO 14001:2015. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif melalui pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder yang relevan dengan standar ISO. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode checklist yang mengacu pada klausul ISO 14001:2015 dengan sistem skoring. Tujuannya adalah untuk menggambarkan tingkat pemenuhan perusahaan terhadap persyaratan SML dan mengidentifikasi area yang perlu ditingkatkan untuk mendukung keberhasilan implementasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat lima aktivitas operasional dan pemeliharaan yang memiliki aspek dan dampak lingkungan signifikan, yaitu pemakaian energi listrik, penampungan lumpur dari sludge lagoon, pembakaran sampah di lingkungan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Minum (IPAM), pemeliharaan rutin mesin, dan proses desinfeksi. Penilaian tingkat kesiapan menunjukkan bahwa Instalasi Pengolahan Air Minum (IPAM) X di PT XYZ memperoleh skor 66%, yang mengindikasikan bahwa sebagian elemen SML telah diterapkan, namun masih diperlukan perbaikan untuk mencapai kesiapan sertifikasi penuh. Beberapa dokumen penting yang perlu dipersiapkan untuk memenuhi persyaratan lingkungan meliputi manual SML, ruang lingkup SML, kebijakan lingkungan, struktur organisasi dan tanggung jawab, serta sasaran lingkungan. Temuan ini dapat menjadi dasar bagi penyusunan langkah-langkah perbaikan yang lebih terarah guna mendukung pencapaian sertifikasi ISO 14001:2015 di masa mendatang.

Water pollution is one of the major environmental issues of concern in Indonesia. The impact of this pollution not only affects the balance of natural resources, but can also threaten human life through a decrease in the quality of natural resources. PT XYZ as a water supply company has a responsibility not only in meeting the clean water needs of the community, but also in ensuring that its operational processes do not damage the environment. But until now, PT XYZ has not implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) based on the ISO 14001: 2015 standard. This study aims to evaluate the readiness level of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) X at PT XYZ in implementing ISO 14001:2015. The method used is a quantitative approach through the collection of primary and secondary data relevant to the ISO standard. The evaluation was conducted using a checklist method based on ISO 14001:2015 clauses with a scoring system. The goal is to assess the company's compliance level with EMS requirements and identify areas that need improvement to support successful implementation. The results showed that there are five operational and maintenance activities that have significant environmental aspects and impacts, namely the use of electrical energy, sludge collection from the sludge lagoon, burning garbage in the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) environment, routine maintenance of machinery, and disinfection processes. The readiness level assessment shows that the X Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at PT XYZ scored 66%, which indicates that some elements of the SML have been implemented, but improvements are still needed to achieve full certification readiness. Some important documents that need to be prepared to meet environmental requirements include the SML manual, SML scope, environmental policy, organizational structure and responsibilities, and environmental objectives. These findings can be the basis for developing more targeted improvement measures to support the achievement of ISO 14001:2015 certification in the future.
