Abstract

Keterbatasan akses pendidikan formal bagi anak jalanan masih menjadi isu di mana akses pendidikan nonformal lebih sedikit yang tersedia. Kurangnya dukungan terhadap pendidikan nonformal membuat anak-anak dari kelompok rentan terpinggirkan dari proses belajar yang layak. Pendidikan nonformal memegang peran penting dalam membentuk kualitas sumber daya manusia terutama bagi anak jalanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Komunitas Gerakan Mengajak Sedekah (Geng Gemes) dalam memfasilitasi kegiatan belajar anak jalanan melalui Program Sekolah Jalanan Petojo di Surabaya. Dengan tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui peran komunitas dalam memfasilitasi pembelajaran anak jalanan, factor pendukung dan penghambat apa saja yang mempengaruhi pelaksanaan program, serta merumuskan strategi keberlanjutan program. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pemilihan informan menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data kualitatif menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, analisis SWOT dan diagram fishbone. Analisis peran merujuk kepada Ife dan Tesoriero (2016) yang mengelompokkan peran komunitas menjadi empat fungsi utama yaitu fasilitatif, pendidik, teknis, dan representatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Geng Gemes melaksanakan seluruh fungsi tersebut dengan mendampingi anak-anak jalanan. Peran sebagai fasilitator dengan menciptakan ruang belajar yang nyaman di lingkungan anak jalanan. Peran pendidik yaitu membangun kepercayaan anak jalanan melalui pendekatan. Peran representasi dengan menyuarakan kebutuhan anak jalanan ke khalayak umum. Peran teknis yaitu mengelola logistik, keuangan, jadwal, dan kebutuhan belajar anak jalanan. Strategi yang diprioritaskan dalam Program Sekolah Jalanan Petojo meliputi pelatihan peningkatan kapasitas relawan, kolaborasi dengan organisasi kampus untuk menambah tenaga pengajar, serta pembentukan tutor sebaya dari kalangan anak-anak yang lebih senior. Manfaat penelitian untuk memperkaya literatur tentang peran komunitas dalam pendidikan nonformal, memberikan masukan bagi Geng Gemes, memberikan rekomendasi kepada pemerintah terkait kolaborasi.

Limited access to formal education for street children remains an issue, with less access to non-formal education available. Lack of support for non-formal education marginalizes children from vulnerable groups from proper learning processes. Non-formal education plays a crucial role in shaping the quality of human resources, especially for street children. This study aims to analyze the role of the Community Movement to Invite Charity (Geng Gemes) in facilitating learning activities for street children through the Petojo Street School Program in Surabaya. The research aims to determine the role of the community in facilitating learning for street children, the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence program implementation, and to formulate a strategy for program sustainability. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Informants were selected using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. Qualitative data analysis techniques used the Miles and Huberman model, SWOT analysis, and fishbone diagrams. Role analysis refers to Ife and Tesoriero (2016) who group community roles into four main functions: facilitative, educational, technical, and representative. The results of the study show that Geng Gemes carries out all of these functions by assisting street children. The role as a facilitator by creating a comfortable learning space in the street children's environment. The role of educator is to build trust in street children through approaches. The role of representation is to voice the needs of street children to the general public. The technical role is to manage logistics, finances, schedules, and learning needs of street children. The prioritized strategies in the Petojo Street School Program include volunteer capacity building training, collaboration with campus organizations to increase teaching staff, and the formation of peer tutors from among more senior children. The benefits of this research are to enrich the literature on the role of communities in non-formal education, provide input for Geng Gemes, and provide recommendations to the government regarding collaboration
