Abstract

Peternakan sapi perah memiliki manfaat ekonomi yang bernilai tinggi, namun limbah ternak yang dihasilkan juga cukup besar. Perlu perhatian khusus dalam pengelolaannya untuk dapat mencegah terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan. PT. X merupakan salah satu perusahaan susu terbesar di Indonesia yang sedang memiliki masalah pada Instalasi Pengolahan Limbah Cair (IPLC) peternakannya. Permasalahan ini mengakibatkan efluen yang dihasilkan oleh IPLC tidak sesuai dengen baku mutu yang digunakan. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, diperlukan suatu kajian kuantitas dan kualitas pada IPLC eksisting beserta evaluasi kinerja pada sistem instalasi. Kajian tersebut akan menjadi dasar perencanaan untuk dilakukannya modifikasi guna memberikan alternatif pengolahan limbah yang lebih efektif. Langkah awal yang dilakukan mencakup pengumpulan data dan pengujian karakteristik limbah cair. Setelah itu, dilakukan analisis dan evaluasi dengan melakukan perhitungan teknis yang meliputi perhitungan dimensi, volume, kecepatan aliran, waktu detensi, persentase removal, dan kapasitas beban organik pada masing-masing unit. Kemudian, dari hasil evaluasi tersebut, akan dilakukan redesain pada IPLC eksisting. Langkah yang dilakukan untuk melakukan redesain meliputi penentuan alternatif pengolahan yang akan digunakan, perhitungan detail engineering desain berserta perhitungan bill of quantity dan rencana anggaran biaya. Hasil dari evaluasi yang didapat untuk unit sandtrap telah memenuhi standar dengan efisiensi penurunan TSS hingga 31,07% sehingga tidak perlu redesain. Frekuensi pengurasan pada unit Pit 1 dan Pit 2 perlu ditingkatkan menjadi 2 – 3 bulan sekali. Selanjutnya, diperlukan penambahan pre-treatment karena beban organik yang diterima oleh unit Bak Anaerobik melebihi kapasitasnya yang hanya bisa mengolah <350 g/m3.hari. Hasil redesain yang dilakukan terbagi menjadi dua skenario berdasarkan baku mutu berbeda. Skenario pertama direncanakan mengacu pada baku mutu usulan PT. X untuk digunakan sebagai sumber nutrisi bagi lahan perkebunan kopi, sementara skenario kedua direncanakan mengacu pada Permen LH Nomor 5 Tahun 2014 khususnya baku mutu efluen IPAL peternakan sapi dan babi. Pada skenario pertama dibutuhkan adanya penambahan Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR) beserta Kolam Fakultatif. Pada skenario kedua, melanjutkan hasil alternatif skenario pertama dengan menambahkan Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor dan Constructed Wetland.

Dairy farming offers significant economic benefits, but it also produces substantial amounts of waste. This requires special attention in its management to prevent environmental pollution. PT. X, one of the largest dairy companies in Indonesia, is currently experiencing problems with its Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP). This problem results in the effluent produced by the WTP not meeting established quality standards. Based on these conditions, a quantitative and qualitative study of the existing WTP, along with a performance evaluation of the system, is required. This study will form the basis for planning modifications to provide more effective wastewater treatment alternatives. Initial steps include data collection and testing of the wastewater characteristics. Following this, analysis and evaluation are conducted using technical calculations, including dimensions, volume, flow rate, detention time, removal percentage, and organic load capacity for each unit. Based on these evaluation results, a redesign of the existing WTP will be undertaken. The redesign steps include determining the treatment alternatives to be used, detailed engineering design calculations, bill of quantities calculations, and a budget plan. The evaluation results obtained for the sandtrap unit have met the standards with a TSS reduction efficiency of up to 31.07% so that no redesign is required. The frequency of draining in Pit 1 and Pit 2 units needs to be increased to once every 2-3 months. Furthermore, additional pre-treatment is needed because the organic load received by the Anaerobic Tank unit exceeds its capacity which can only process <350 g/m3.day. The results of the redesign carried out are divided into two scenarios based on different quality standards. The first scenario is planned to refer to the quality standards proposed by PT. X to be used as a nutrient source for coffee plantations, while the second scenario is planned to refer to the Permen LH Nomor 5 Tahun 2014 specifically the quality standards for cattle and pig farms WWTP effluent. In the first scenario, the addition of an Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR) along with a Facultative Pond is required. In the second scenario, continuing the results of the first alternative scenario by adding a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor and Constructed Wetland.
