Abstract

The rapid increase in energy demand and the limitations of fossil energy resources have driven Indonesia to undergo an energy transition, relying on renewable energy sources. As part of this initiative, PLN's 2021–2030 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) targets the utilization of renewable energy at 20.9 GW. West Kalimantan is one of the key regions for implementing this plan, with the addition of 100 MW capacity from photovoltaic solar power plants (PLTS) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) by 2027. This strategy aims to achieve a diversified energy mix while addressing the growing demand for electricity. As the load demand continues to rise, steady-state stability analysis is crucial to determining the safe operating limits of the West Kalimantan Power System. One of the methods used to analyze voltage stability under steady-state conditions is the P-V and Q-V curves. This analysis is based on the continuous addition of active and reactive power, which provides insights into the maximum loading limits and the voltage stability margin. The analysis results indicate that the integration of PLTS and BESS contributes to an increase in the system's loading capacity and plays a vital role in maintaining voltage stability. The operation of inverters with a power factor of 0.85 has a more significant impact on enhancing the system's loading capacity due to the reactive power supplied by the inverter
