Abstract

PT. X Bali merupakan industri pemotongan ayam berada di Kabupaten Tabanan, Bali yang beroperasi sejak tahun 2008. Kegiatan produksi pemotongan ayam banyak menggunakan air untuk pencucian yang pada akhirnya menjadi air limbah dan berpotensi mengganggu lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi menyeluruh terhadap unit-unit pengolahan air limbah yang beroperasi di IPAL milik PT. X Bali. Selain itu, studi ini juga menelaah kebutuhan jumlah tenaga kerja yang dibutuhkan di area IPAL serta menilai upaya pemantauan lingkungan berdasarkan baku mutu yang berlaku di perusahaan tersebut.
Penelitian ini menggunakan dua jenis data yaitu data primer dan sekunder yang mencakup data sumber limbah cair dari proses produksi, volume limbah yang dihasilkan, karakteristik air limbah, dan kapasitas IPAL dalam mengolah limbah tersebut. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan aspek teknis berdasarkan kriteria desain unit pengolahan, aspek kelembagaan dengan metode SWOT, dan aspek lingkungan dengan menghitung beban pencemar dan analisis Index Pencemar (IP) badan air.
Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa efisiensi penyisihan TSS pada IPAL PT. X Bali hanya mencapai 41% sementara parameter lain seperti BOD, COD, minyak dan lemak, serta NH₃ menunjukkan efisiensi di atas 90%. Hasil analisis dampak lingkungan dengan perhitungan IP menunjukkan bahwa Anak Sungai Tukad Penet berstatus Cemar Ringan. Dalam perumusan strategi pengelolaan IPAL melalui analisis SWOT, didapatkan strategi yang sesuai adalah dengan memanfaatkan monitoring dari pemerintah untuk menjaga keberlangsungan dan keberlanjutan IPAL. Selain itu, perusahaan juga menunjuk petugas khusus yang bertanggung jawab untuk mengelola dan merawat sistem IPAL secara rutin.

PT. X Bali is a chicken slaughterhouse located in Tabanan Regency, Bali, which has been operating since 2008. Its chicken slaughterhouse production activities use a lot of water for washing, which ultimately becomes wastewater and has the potential to harm the environment. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the wastewater treatment units operating at PT. X Bali's wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). In addition, this study also examines the number of workers needed in the WWTP area and assesses environmental monitoring efforts based on the company's applicable quality standards.
This study used two types of data: primary and secondary data, which included data on the sources of liquid waste from the production process, the volume of waste generated, the characteristics of the wastewater, and the capacity of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The evaluation was conducted by considering technical aspects based on the design criteria of the treatment unit, institutional aspects using the SWOT method, and environmental aspects by calculating the pollutant load and analyzing the Pollutant Index (IP) of the water body.
The study results show that the TSS removal efficiency at PT. X Bali's wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) only reached 41%, while other parameters such as BOD, COD, oil and grease, and NH₃ showed efficiencies above 90%. The results of the environmental impact analysis using IP calculations indicate that the Tukad Penet River is slightly polluted. In formulating the WWTP management strategy through a SWOT analysis, the appropriate strategy was obtained by utilizing government monitoring to maintain the continuity and sustainability of the WWTP. In addition, the company also appointed special officers who are responsible for managing and maintaining the WWTP system regularly.
