Abstract
Perkembangan penelitian terkait sumber dan bahaya gempa di Indonesia membuat risiko gempa di beberapa kota, termasuk Malang, semakin meningkat. Hal ini mengakibatkan bangunan yang didesain menggunakan Peta Gempa 2010 memerlukan rehabilitasi ketika tidak memenuhi kriteria yang ditentukan saat dilakukan evaluasi. Salah satu konsep yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kinerja struktur terhadap gaya gempa adalah penambahan isolasi dasar. Pada studi ini dilakukan evaluasi dan rehabilitasi gedung eksisting dengan penambahan isolasi dasar tipe lead rubber bearing (LRB) pada gedung universitas 8 lantai di Malang. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan mengacu pada ASCE 41-17, sedangkan desain rehabilitasi mengacu pada FEMA 547/2006 dan FEMA P-1051/2015. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan metode nonlinear time history analysis (NLTHA) menggunakan 11 pasang rekaman gempa yang diskalakan ke respons spektrum tujuan BSE-2E. Hasil analisis menunjukkan penggunaan LRB pada gedung eksisting secara signifikan meningkatkan respons seismik struktur dengan memperpanjang periode 58,77%, mereduksi gaya geser dasar 49,90%, mereduksi simpangan antar lantai 44,17%, mereduksi simpangan atap 13,58%, mereduksi percepatan lantai atap 34,68%, dan meningkatkan disipasi energi 21,52%. Selain itu, penggunaan LRB membantu meningkatkan level kinerja global dan lokal struktur dari damage control (IO – LS) dan not considered (> CP) pada kondisi awal menjadi operational (< IO) dan damage control (IO – LS) setelah dilakukan rehabilitasi. Dengan demikian, struktur telah memenuhi kinerja minimum yang disyaratkan untuk bangunan dengan kategori risiko IV yaitu life safety saat dievaluasi terhadap gempa BSE-2E. Instalasi isolasi dasar pada rehabilitasi gedung eksisting dilakukan dengan metode column cut yaitu memotong kolom eksisting dan menambahkan isolator di antaranya. Proses ini dilakukan menggunakan alat bantu clamp baja dan hydraulic jack.

Research developments related to earthquake sources and hazards in Indonesia have increased the risk of earthquakes in several cities, including Malang. This has resulted in buildings designed using the 2010 Earthquake Map requiring rehabilitation when they do not meet the specified criteria during evaluation. One concept that can be used to improve structural performance against seismic forces is the addition of base isolation. In this study, an evaluation and rehabilitation of an existing building were conducted by adding base isolation of the lead rubber bearing (LRB) type to an 8-storey university building in Malang. The evaluation was conducted in accordance with ASCE 41-17, while the rehabilitation design was based on FEMA 547/2006 and FEMA P-1051/2015. The analysis was performed using the nonlinear time history analysis (NLTHA) method with 11 pairs of earthquake records scaled to the BSE-2E target response spectrum. The analysis results showed that the use of LRB in existing buildings significantly improved the seismic response of the structure by extending the period by 58.77%, reducing the base shear force by 49.90%, reducing inter-story drift by 44.17%, reducing roof deflection by 13.58%, reducing roof floor acceleration by 34.68%, and increasing energy dissipation by 21.52%. Additionally, the use of LRB helps improve the global and local performance levels of the structure from damage control (IO – LS) and not considered (> CP) in the initial condition to operational (< IO) and damage control (IO – LS) after rehabilitation. Thus, the structure meets the minimum performance requirements for buildings in risk category IV, which is life safety, when evaluated against the BSE-2E earthquake. The installation of base isolation in the rehabilitation of existing buildings was carried out using the column cut method, which involves cutting the existing columns and adding isolators between them. This process was performed using steel clamps and hydraulic jacks.
