Abstract

The Tumbang Samba Bridge is located in Central Kalimantan and connects the villages of Telok and Samba Danum, with a total length of 568 meters. This bridge consists of a Modified Network Tied Arch Bridge structure (128 meters) and a composite structure (220+220 meters). The numerous pillars of the bridge make it inefficient as they reduce the effective linear waterway of the river. Therefore, an idea is proposed to modify the design of the Tumbang Samba Bridge using a Double Planes System Cable Stayed. A cable-stayed bridge is a bridge that uses cables to support the load of the bridge deck. This modification is planned to use two pylons, thereby reducing the number of pillars on the bridge compared to the existing bridge structure. The bridge girder is planned to use a Steel Orthotropic Trapezoidal Box Girder which can increase the stiffness of the bridge. The bridge construction method is planned to use the balanced cantilever method with backward construction stage analysis. The modification planning starts from literature study and data collection, preliminary design, load calculation, modeling and analysis of secondary and primary structures, static and dynamic control, anchor and joint planning, single cable break analysis, bearing planning, and finally staging analysis. The bridge planning is based on SNI 1725:2016, SNI 2833:2016, and SNI 1729:2020 regulations.
