Abstract

The demand for Halal-certified products and services continues to rise, not only in Muslim-majority countries but also globally. Indonesia, with its abundant natural resources, cultural diversity, and growing tourism sector, holds strategic potential to promote economic growth through Halal tourism. The SIAR Halal application was developed to assist the people of Surabaya in locating Halal-certified dining establishments by utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) technology and gamification elements. This study aims to redesign the UI/UX of the SIAR Halal application to make it more intuitive, engaging, and aligned with user needs. The prototype development applied the Design Thinking methodology, consisting of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing. An initial evaluation of the previous version was conducted using usability testing, followed by analysis through Heuristic Evaluation and Shneiderman’s Eight Golden Rules to identify design violations. The final prototype was tested using the System Usability Scale (SUS) with 25 participants, resulting in a score of 86.2, which falls under the “Excellent” category. Additional evaluations were performed through a time-based evaluation, yielding an average efficiency index of 0.0876, and a task success rate of 99.7%, indicating that the application is both efficient and easy to use. A Cronbach’s Alpha reliability test resulted in a score of 0.60, categorized as “questionable,” but still considered valid due to the low response variance caused by consistently positive user feedback. The results of this study demonstrate that the redesigned SIAR Halal application successfully enhances the interface quality and user experience in locating Halal-certified places in an interactive, engaging, and trustworthy manner.

Permintaan terhadap produk dan layanan bersertifikat Halal terus meningkat, tidak hanya di negara mayoritas Muslim tetapi juga secara global. Indonesia, dengan kekayaan sumber daya alam, keberagaman budaya, dan sektor pariwisata yang berkembang, memiliki peluang strategis untuk mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi melalui promosi pariwisata Halal. Aplikasi SIAR Halal dikembangkan untuk membantu masyarakat Surabaya dalam menemukan tempat makan bersertifikat Halal dengan memanfaatkan teknologi Augmented Reality (AR) dan elemen gamifikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang UI/UX aplikasi SIAR Halal agar lebih intuitif, menarik, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Pembuatan prototype dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode Design Thinking yang terdiri dari lima tahapan, yaitu empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan testing. Evaluasi awal terhadap versi lama aplikasi dilakukan menggunakan usability testing, dianalisa menggunakan Heuristic Evaluation dan Shneiderman’s Eight Golden Rules untuk mengidentifikasi pelanggaran desain. Prototype akhir diuji menggunakan metode System Usability Scale (SUS) terhadap 25 partisipan dan menghasilkan skor sebesar 86.2, yang termasuk dalam kategori “Excellent”. Evaluasi tambahan dilakukan melalui time-based evaluation dengan rata-rata efficiency index sebesar 0.0876, serta tingkat keberhasilan sebesar 99.7%, yang menandakan bahwa aplikasi mudah digunakan dan efisien. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan Cronbach’s Alpha menghasilkan skor 0.60 yang masuk kategori “questionable”, namun tetap dianggap valid karena rendahnya variasi jawaban akibat tingginya konsistensi penilaian positif dari pengguna. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa redesign SIAR Halal berhasil meningkatkan kualitas antarmuka dan pengalaman pengguna dalam menemukan tempat Halal secara interaktif, menarik, dan terpercaya.
