Abstract

Population growth is increasing along with the development of industrial and residential areas, increasing the need for electrical energy. One of them is in Surabaya City, precisely the East Surabaya area. The power distribution system has a vital role in maintaining user convenience in using electrical energy and the availability of electrical energy supply. If there is increase in a load, it can cause a voltage drop, which impacts the voltage stability of the 20 kV distribution system. Therefore, in this final project research, load flow analysis is carried out to determine the voltage drop on each bus in the 20 kV distribution system. Furthermore, the Voltage Stability Index (VSI) method will be employed to determine the optimal placement of Distributed Generation (DG), while the DG sizing will be established using a combination of the Continuation Power Flow (CPF) method and P-V curve analysis.
