Abstract
PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur adalah salah satu perusahaan yang beroperasi di sektor pengolahan pupuk dan amoniak. PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur menjalin kerja sama dengan PLN guna mewujudkan sistem kelistrikan yang tepat guna. Jika terdapat gangguan pada sistem kelistrikan, memberikan efek yang dapat mengganggu proses produksi dan menimbulkan kerugian yang tidak diduga dan diinginkan. Salah satu gangguan yang muncul berupa arc flash. Arc flash sendiri merupakan peristiwa pelepasan suatu energi panas yang amat tinggi karena adanya arc fault atau bolted fault. Peristiwa arc flash sendiri dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada alat-alat yag ada dan bisa memberikan bahaya pada pekerja yang ada. Sehingga diperlukan penyempurnaan sistem koordinasi proteksi dengan memperhitungkan arc flash guna mencari nilai incident energy yang sudah sesuai dengan standar yang ada. Oleh karena itu, pada tugas akhir ini akan dilakukan analisa terlebih dahulu terhadap kondisi eksisting pada sistem koordinasi proteksinya. Setelah itu dilakukan pengecekan dengan memperhitungkan arc flash dengan hasil incident energy. Jika masih terdapat nilai incident energy yang besar maka akan dilakukan evaluasi terhadap sistem yang ada agar nilainya mengecil. Standar yang akan digunakan adalah standar IEEE 1584-2002. Setelah melakukan perhitungan, maka dapat dikelompokkan berdasarkan kategori-kategori bahayanya. Agar nanti dapat ditentukan jarak dari flash protection boundary dan menayarankan personal protective equipment (PPE) bagi pekerja-pekerja berdasarkan standar NFPA 70E. Dari hasil analisis tersebut, didapatkan nilai incident energy, sehingga dapat dijadikan poin penting untuk para pekerja terkait personal protective equipment dalam melakukan kegiatan pada setiap area kerja yang ada.

PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur is a company operating in the fertilizer and ammonia processing sector. PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur collaborates with PLN to establish a fit-for-purpose electrical system. If disturbances occur in the electrical system, the resulting effects can disrupt the production process and cause unforeseen and undesirable losses. One such disturbance that arises is an arc flash. An arc flash itself is an event involving the release of extremely high thermal energy due to an arc fault or bolted fault, which has the potential to damage equipment and pose a danger to existing workers. Therefore, an improvement of the protective coordination system is necessary, by considering arc flash to determine incident energy values that comply with existing standards. Consequently, this final project will first analyze the existing condition of its protective coordination system. Following this, a verification will be performed by considering arc flash with its resulting incident energy. If the incident energy values remain high, an evaluation of the existing system will be conducted to reduce these values. The standard to be used is IEEE 1584-2002. After performing the calculations, the results can be grouped based on their hazard categories. This will enable the determination of the arc flash boundary distance and the recommendation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for workers based on NFPA 70E standards. From these analysis results, the incident energy values obtained can serve as a crucial reference point for workers regarding Personal Protective Equipment when carrying out activities in each respective work area.
