Heritage tourism refers to travel undertaken to appreciate history, nature, cultural heritage, arts, philosophy, and the social structures of different regions. The city of Surabaya holds historical significance as the site of the Indonesian people's struggle for independence from colonial rule. This makes Surabaya rich in heritage tourism potential. Understanding consumer behavior is essential in formulating effective strategies to attract tourists to heritage tourism destinations. Meanwhile, the consumer journey represents the process customers go through across various stages and touchpoints, shaping their overall experience. In the tourism sector, technological advancements have significantly influenced how consumers plan, purchase, and experience tourism products. Although academic research on consumer behavior in tourism is extensive, there remains a significant research gap in understanding the consumer journey of heritage tourism visitors when technology is involved. This study aims to explore the impact of technology on the aspects that shape and are shaped by the consumer journey of tourists visiting heritage tourism destinations. The research adopts the classic consumer journey model and is grounded in the theory of reasoned action (TRA), theory of planned behavior (TPB), and technology acceptance model (TAM). A qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach is employed. The outcome of this study is a model for the consumer journey of heritage tourism visitors when technology is integrated into the experience.
