Abstract
Demensia adalah istilah umum yang mengacu pada penurunan fungsi kognitif yang parah sehingga mengganggu aktivitas sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan perawatan demensia merupakan aspek yang sangat penting untuk memastikan perawat dapat memberikan perawatan yang tepat. Penelitian ini mengembangkan aplikasi Virtual Reality (VR) berbasis simulasi peran yang dirancang untuk mensimulasikan skenario interaksi dengan Non-Playable Character (NPC) yang menunjukkan gejala demensia. Teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) digunakan untuk memprogram NPC agar memberikan respons yang dinamis dan realistis. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah pengembangan interaksi VR yang akan melatih pengguna, khususnya mahasiswa keperawatan, dalam pengambilan keputusan serta memberikan pengalaman berinteraksi dengan NPC berbasis AI menggunakan kerangka kerja Mechanics, Dynamics, Aesthetics (MDA). Evaluasi aplikasi dilakukan melalui System Usability Scale (SUS) dan playtesting untuk mengukur efektivitas dan kemudahan penggunaan. Aplikasi ini diharapkan dapat diuji oleh jurusan keperawatan untuk menilai efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan komunikasi saat menangani pasien demensia. Hasil penelitian ini berpotensi memberikan kontribusi terhadap inovasi pelatihan kesehatan melalui teknologi VR.

Dementia is a general term that refers to severe cognitive function decline that interferes with daily activities. Therefore, dementia care training is a crucial aspect to ensure nurses can provide appropriate care. This research develops a Virtual Reality (VR) application based on role simulation designed to simulate interaction scenarios with Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) that exhibit dementia symptoms. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is used to program NPCs to provide dynamic and realistic responses. The main focus of this research is developing VR interactions that will train users, particularly nursing students, in decision-making and provide experience interacting with AI-based NPCs using the Mechanics, Dynamics, Aesthetics (MDA) framework. Application evaluation is conducted through System Usability Scale (SUS) and playtesting to measure effectiveness and usability. This application is expected to be tested by nursing departments to assess its effectiveness in improving understanding and communication skills when handling dementia patients. The results of this research have the potential to contribute to healthcare training innovation through VR technology.
