Abstract

Pada tahun 2020, data Survei Ekonomi Nasional (SUSENAS) mencatat bahwa terdapat 28,05 juta penyandang disabilitas di Indonesia, dengan jumlah tertinggi berasal dari kategori tunanetra. Tunanetra generasi Z yang lahir antara tahun 1997 hingga 2012, khususnya yang mengalami kebutaan total, menghadapi tantangan dalam mobilitas dan efisiensi penggunaan barang sehari-hari. Meskipun generasi ini dikenal produktif, mandiri, dan adaptif terhadap teknologi, keterbatasan penglihatan serta keterbatasan ekonomi sering kali membatasi akses mereka terhadap produk fungsional yang variatif. Hasil wawancara dengan tunanetra usia 20–27 tahun menunjukkan bahwa tas memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung mobilitas, kemandirian, dan kepercayaan diri, namun tas konvensional dinilai kurang fleksibel untuk aktivitas dinamis. Menanggapi kebutuhan tersebut, penelitian ini merancang tas rompi multifungsi yang dapat dikonversi menjadi tas selempang atau tas pinggang (waist bag). Produk ini dilengkapi sensor ultrasonik dan pola taktil sebagai alat bantu untuk meningkatkan kewaspadaan terhadap lingkungan sekitar. Konsep desain yang diusung adalah multifungsi, informatif, dan konvertibel. Diharapkan, rancangan ini dapat meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan dan mobilitas tunanetra generasi Z dalam menjalani aktivitas harian secara lebih mandiri dan yaman.

In 2020, data from the National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) recorded 28.05 million people with disabilities in Indonesia, with the highest proportion being individuals with visual impairments. Visually impaired members of Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012, especially those who are completely blind, face significant challenges in mobility and in using daily items efficiently. Although this generation is known for being productive, independent, and adaptive to technology, their visual and financial limitations often hinder access to various functional products. Interviews with blind individuals aged 20 to 27 revealed that bags play an important role in supporting their mobility, independence, and self-confidence. However, conventional bags are often considered inflexible and less suitable for dynamic activities. In response to these challenges, this study proposes the design of a multifunctional vest bag that can be converted into a sling bag or a waist bag. The product is equipped with an ultrasonic sensor and tactile patterns to help users be more aware of their surroundings. The design concept emphasizes multifunctionality, informativeness, and convertibility. This product is expected to enhance both the efficiency of use and the mobility of visually impaired Generation Z users in carrying out daily activities independently and comfortably.
