Abstract
Teritorialitas merupakan konsep yang menggambarkan bagaimana individu atau kelompok memanfaatkan dan mengontrol ruang fisik untuk membentuk identitas, kepemilikan, dan rasa aman. Aspek personal, situasional, dan sosial-budaya memengaruhi pembentukan teritorialitas, yang mencakup batas, kontrol, perilaku spasial, rasa kepemilikan, privasi. Teritorialitas menjadi penting untuk memahami kebutuhan psikologis individu terkait ruang pribadi, potensi konflik, serta pengaruh budaya terhadap perilaku teritorial dalam berbagi ruang, khususnya pada lingkungan boarding school . Boarding school merupakan sistem sekolah yang memiliki asrama, di mana para siswa diberikan pengalaman pendidikan yang komprehensif yang mencakup aspek akademik, sosial, dan pengembangan pribadi siswa. SMAN Taruna Nala merupakan boarding school yang berkonsep semi militer dengan struktur hirarkis, disiplin, dan keterampilan militer dijunjung tinggi. Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa boarding school semi-militer dapat berkontribusi pada pengembangan tanggung jawab, kerja sama antar kelompok, dan keterampilan kepemimpinan siswa. Di sisi lain, aspek teritorialitas di lingkungan boarding school semi-militer masih belum banyak diteliti. Pemahaman mengenai teritorialitas di asrama SMAN Taruna Nala penting dilakukan karena mencerminkan dinamika sosial yang kompleks. Hierarki, disiplin, dan kebutuhan ruang pribadi dalam lingkungan tersebut berperan penting untuk mendukung tujuan pendidikan serta kesejahteraan siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis faktor teritorialitas yang terbentuk di lingkungan Boarding school berbasis semi-militer, terutama pada asrama siswa. Lebih dalam lagi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan unsur – unsur teritorialitas ruang berdasarkan indikator teritorialitas. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian berbasis fenomenologi. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku teritorial siswa di asrama semi-militer berkembang secara progresif seiring dengan jenjang kelas, dari keterlibatan fisik yang tinggi menuju makna simbolik terhadap ruang. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pengalaman tinggal dan dinamika sosial di asrama berperan penting dalam pembentukan identitas ruang siswa.

Territoriality is a concept that describes how individuals or groups use and control physical space to shape identity, ownership, and a sense of security. Personal, situational, and socio-cultural aspects influence the formation of territoriality, which includes boundaries, control, spatial behavior, a sense of ownership, and privacy. Territoriality becomes important in understanding the psychological needs of individuals related to personal space, potential conflicts, and the influence of culture on territorial behavior in shared spaces, particularly in boarding school environments. Boarding school is a school system with dormitories, where students are provided with a comprehensive educational experience that includes academic, social, and personal development aspects. SMAN Taruna Nala is a boarding school with a semi-military concept where hierarchical structure, discipline, and military skills are highly valued. Previous research has shown that semi-military boarding school s can contribute to the development of students' responsibility, inter-group cooperation, and leadership skills. On the other hand, the aspect of territoriality in semi-military boarding school environments has not been extensively researched. Understanding territoriality in SMAN Taruna Nala's dormitories is important because it reflects complex social dynamics. Hierarchy, discipline, and the need for personal space in such an environment play crucial roles in supporting educational goals and student well-being. This research is conducted to analyze the factor of territoriality formed in a semi-military-based boarding school environment, particularly in the student dormitories. Furthermore, this research aims to identify the elements of spatial territoriality based on territoriality indicators. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research design. The findings of this study reveal that territorial behavior among students in a semi-military dormitory develops progressively across grade levels, evolving from high physical engagement to a more symbolic attachment to space. This highlights the significant role of residential experience and social dynamics in shaping students’ spatial identity.
