Abstract
Magang industri merupakan bagian dari kurikulum Program Studi Sarjana Terapan Teknik Mesin Industri Fakultas Vokasi ITS yang bertujuan untuk mengasah kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengaplikasikan ilmu yang diperoleh di perkuliahan ke dunia industri. Kegiatan magang ini dilaksanakan di Divisi Peralatan Unit Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) selama 4 bulan, dari Februari hingga Juni 2024. Fokus utama laporan ini adalah analisis sistem perawatan pada komponen spreader RTG menggunakan metode Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Spreader merupakan alat penting dalam sistem RTG yang bertugas mengangkat dan memindahkan peti kemas. Berdasarkan data kerusakan dan historis perawatan, ditemukan beberapa komponen spreader yang memiliki tingkat kegagalan tinggi seperti twistlock, flipper arm, dan hydraulic system. Melalui pendekatan FMEA, dilakukan identifikasi terhadap modes kegagalan, tingkat keparahan (Severity), frekuensi kejadian (Occurrence), dan kemampuan deteksi (Detection), yang kemudian dihitung nilai Risk Priority Number (RPN). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa komponen twistlock memiliki nilai RPN tertinggi yaitu 252, diikuti oleh flipper arm sebesar 210 dan sistem teleskopik sebesar 192. Dengan mengetahui komponen prioritas ini, perusahaan dapat menyusun strategi perawatan yang lebih efektif dan efisien untuk meminimalisasi risiko kerusakan serta meningkatkan keandalan operasional RTG.

The industrial internship is an integral part of the Applied Bachelor Program in Industrial Mechanical Engineering at the Vocational Faculty of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), aiming to enhance students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real industrial settings. This internship was conducted in the Equipment Division, Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) unit, at PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) over a four-month period, from February to June 2024. The main focus of this report is the analysis of the maintenance system on RTG spreader components using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method. The spreader is a critical component responsible for lifting and moving containers. Based on damage history and maintenance data, several spreader components were identified to have high failure rates, such as the twistlock, flipper arm, and hydraulic system. Through the FMEA approach, failure modes were identified and assessed using Severity, Occurrence, and Detection ratings to calculate the Risk Priority Number (RPN). The analysis results showed that the twistlock had the highest RPN of 252, followed by the flipper arm at 210, and the telescopic system at 192. By identifying these priority components, the company can implement a more effective and efficient maintenance strategy to minimize failure risks and improve the reliability of RTG operations.
