Abstract

Kebutuhan energi akan terus meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi suatu negara. Pemerintah juga menargetkan pada tahun 2024 konsumsi listrik mengalami peningkatan mencapai 1.408 kWh/kapita. Oleh karena itu, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi listrik tersebut, diperlukan adanya pembangkit listrik yang dapat menyediakan sumber daya energi listrik dengan kapasitas besar. Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU)merupakan jenis pembangkit listrik termal yang banyak digunakan di Indonesia karena efektivitas biaya dan kemudahan dalam penggunaannya. Salah satunya yaitu PT. YTL Paiton Jawa Timur yang mengoperasikan unit 5 dan 6, memiliki total kapasitas produksi listrik sebesar 1220 MW dan memasok listrik ke jaringan listrik Jawa-Bali sebesar 500 Kv yang dioperasikan oleh PLN. PLTU pada prosesnya terdapat water steam cycle yang menunjang terbentuknya sumber listrik dari pergerakan turbine. Adapun salah satu proses yang berperan didalamnya yaitu High Pressure Feedwater (HP FW) Heater yang berfungsi untuk memanaskan air umpan (feedwater) secara bertingkat sebelum dilanjutkan ke economizer. Proses pertukaran panas pada HP FW heater ini memanfaatkan uap panas hasil dari ekstraksi Intermediate Turbine (IP) Turbine. Agar tercapai proses pemanasan yang optimal maka diperlukan sistem pengendalian level cairan pada heater. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan kontrol pengendali PID dengan membandingkan variasi trial error pengendali PI. Adapun pada analisis ini diperoleh variasi kontrol terbaik adalah menggunakan pengendali PI dengan overshoot sebesar 7.477%, error steady state 0.3%, dan grafik respon sistem yang stabil.

Energy demand will continue to increase in line with a country's economic growth. The government also targets that by 2024, electricity consumption will experience an increase reaching 1,408 kWh/capita. Therefore, to meet these electrical energy needs, power plants are required that can provide electrical energy resources with large capacity. Steam Power Plants (PLTU) are a type of thermal power plant widely used in Indonesia due to their cost-effectiveness and ease of use. One of them is PT. YTL Paiton East Java, which operates units 5 and 6, has a total electricity production capacity of 1220 MW and supplies electricity to the Java-Bali electrical grid of 500 kV operated by PLN. In the PLTU process, there is a water steam cycle that supports the formation of electrical sources from turbine movement. One of the processes that plays a role in this is the High Pressure Feedwater (HP FW) Heater, which functions to heat the feedwater in stages before proceeding to the economizer. The heat exchange process in this HP FW heater utilizes hot steam resulting from extraction of the Intermediate Pressure (IP) Turbine. To achieve optimal heating process, a liquid level control system in the heater is required. The analysis was conducted using PID controller control by comparing variations of trial error PI controller. In this analysis, the best control variation obtained is using PI controller with an overshoot of 7.477%, steady state error of 0.3%, and a stable system response graph.
