Abstract
SPAR adalah bangunan apung yang sering digunakan untuk floating wind turbines, drilling platform, dan SPAR buoys. Stabil dan dapat beroperasi di laut dalam merupakan keunggulan dari SPAR. Akan tetapi, Gerakan heave pada SPAR berisiko tinggi mengalami resonansi. Hal tersebut membuat sistem tambat dan riser beresiko tinggi mengalami kerusakan. oleh karena itu, pada penelitian ini berfokus pada gearakan heave pada SPAR. Metode yang sudah diterapkan pada SPAR adalah penambah heave plate. Penggunaan heave plate dianggap dapat meredam gerakan heave. Selain heave plate, terdapat juga alat peredam yaitu pendulum tunned mass damper yang umumnya digunakan untuk meredam getaran pada gedung tinggi. Penambahan pendulum Tunned Mass Damper diharap dapat menghindarkan SPAR dari resonansi. Pada tugas akhir ini fokusan kajian pada gerakan heave pada SPAR akibat penambahan pendulum tunned mass damper. Pada Studi ini diperlukan penurunan rumus dengan persamaan lagarange dan juga menggunakan bantuan Software NEMOH dan Octave. Software NEMOH digunakan untuk mendapatkan karakter Hidrodinamis dari SPAR. Software Octave sendiri digunakan untuk mencari pengaruh penambahan Tunned Mass Damper.

A SPAR is a floating structure commonly used for floating wind turbines, drilling platforms, and SPAR buoys. Its stability and ability to operate in deep waters are key advantages. However, the heave motion of a SPAR is at high risk of resonance, which poses a significant threat to the mooring system and risers. Therefore, this study focuses on the heave motion of a SPAR. One method that has been applied to mitigate this motion is the addition of a heave plate, which is considered effective in reducing heave motion. Besides the heave plate, another damping device known as a pendulum Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) is commonly used to reduce vibrations in high-rise buildings. The addition of a pendulum TMD is expected to prevent the SPAR from experiencing resonance. This final project focuses on studying the heave motion of a SPAR due to the addition of a pendulum Tuned Mass Damper. This study involves deriving equations using Lagrange’s equation and utilizing the NEMOH and Octave software. NEMOH is used to obtain the hydrodynamic characteristics of the SPAR, while Octave is used to analyze the impact of adding the Tuned Mass Damper.
