Abstract

Laporan magang industri ini mengkaji analisis perhitungan kapasitas alir serta pelaksanaan pemeliharaan korektif (corrective maintenance) pada bucket elevator yang digunakan untuk transportasi gula mentah (raw sugar) di unit Raw Sugar PT. Rejoso Manis Indo, Blitar, Jawa Timur. Kegiatan magang berlangsung di divisi mekanik selama periode 19 Februari 2024 hingga 19 Juni 2024. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kapasitas alir bucket elevator berdasarkan parameter teknis, meliputi kecepatan rantai (chain), volume efektif bucket, dan massa efektif bucket, serta menganalisis prosedur pemeliharaan korektif, khususnya penggantian spherical roller bearing pada bagian tail elevator. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas alir bucket elevator mencapai 2.418 ton/hari untuk operasi 20 jam dan 2.538,9 ton/hari untuk operasi 21 jam, dengan efisiensi pengangkutan gula sebesar ±50%, dibandingkan dengan data aktual sebelum penggantian motor dan sprocket sebesar 1.100 ton/hari. Faktor-faktor seperti penggumpalan gula, pelemparan material oleh bucket, dan kontaminasi debu gula berkontribusi terhadap penyimpangan hasil tersebut. Prosedur pemeliharaan korektif dilakukan akibat kondisi overheat pada bearing dan melebihi masa pakai rekomendasi (3 tahun), meliputi tahapan pelepasan mur dan baut, pembersihan grease, penggantian gland packing, pemasangan hub sleeve connector, pemasangan bearing baru, serta instalasi plat modifikasi untuk mencegah infiltrasi partikel gula. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penggunaan komponen sesuai masa pakai dan penerapan prosedur keselamatan kerja untuk meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan produktivitas sistem.

This industrial internship report examines the analysis of flow capacity calculations and corrective maintenance procedures for the bucket elevator used in the transportation of raw sugar at the Raw Sugar Unit of PT. Rejoso Manis Indo, Blitar, East Java. The internship was conducted in the mechanical division from February 19, 2024, to June 19, 2024. The study aims to evaluate the bucket elevator's flow capacity based on technical parameters, including chain speed, effective bucket volume, and effective bucket mass, as well as to analyze the corrective maintenance process, specifically the replacement of the spherical roller bearing in the tail elevator section. The results indicate that the bucket elevator's flow capacity reaches 2,418 tons/day for 20 hours of operation and 2,538.9 tons/day for 21 hours of operation, with a sugar transport efficiency of approximately ±50%, compared to the actual data of 1,100 tons/day prior to motor and sprocket replacement. Factors such as sugar clumping, bucket discharge, and contamination by sugar dust contributed to the discrepancy in results. Corrective maintenance was performed due to bearing overheating and exceeding the recommended service life (3 years), involving steps such as bolt and nut removal, grease cleaning, gland packing replacement, hub sleeve connector installation, new bearing installation, and the addition of a modified plate to prevent sugar particle infiltration. The study concludes that adherence to component service life and the implementation of occupational safety procedures are critical for enhancing operational efficiency and system productivity.
