Abstract

Coal mining operations are high-risk activities, especially in open-pit mines that apply the deep mining concept. One of the highrisk areas is the disposal point, where safety risk management is very important to ensure operational safety. PT XYZ, located in Jobsite ABC with an area of 4105.7 hectares and has 12 disposals, identified 4 disposals that fall into the high-risk category which are very vulnerable to potential accident risks. As a mitigation measure, PT XYZ developed Mine Image Recognition (MIR) technology to improve safety aspects in mining areas, especially in highrisk disposal areas that have a high potential risk of accidents. This technology has just been tested in one of the highrisk disposal areas and can improve monitoring and control in highrisk areas. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the level of readiness of MIR technology using the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) method, and examine the level of acceptance of heavy equipment operators in using the MIR system through Technology Acceptance Model 2 (TAM2) analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, MIR technology is at the TRL 9 readiness level with a fulfillment rate of 80%. In the TAM2 analysis, there are 4 variables that significantly affect MIR Usage Behavior directly. The test also shows that the R-square is above 0.75, which means that there is a strong influence from the measurement of exogenous latents on endogenous latents. Then also conducted a Business Model Canvas (BMC) analysis to be a fairly efficient guide in creating the main value proposition in the form of increasing operational safety in high-risk disposal areas through automated visual monitoring systems and early detection of unsafe behavior from MIR Technology. Given the crucial role of operators as the main users as well as the objects whose behavior is controlled, their acceptance of the MIR system is key to the successful implementation of this technology. Strategies that companies can do in optimizing the use of MIR are device and network maintenance programs, report development for realtime monitoring and regular feature refresh programs for operators.
