Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang mekanisme mesin pembuat brush dari siwak sebagai solusi terhadap produksi manual dan menghasilkan produk yang tidak seragam. Permasalahan utama yang diangkat adalah bagaimana menentukan spesifikasi teknis dan cara kerja mesin yang sesuai untuk menghasilkan brush dari batang siwak yang telah dikupas. Perancangan dilakukan dengan pendekatan teknik rekayasa, mencakup identifikasi kebutuhan, penentuan mekanisme, dan perhitungan elemen mesin seperti poros, belt-pulley, bearing, dan motor penggerak. Mesin dirancang menggunakan dua mekanisme utama: mekanisme pengerollan dua roll untuk memipihkan batang siwak, dan mekanisme reciprocating untuk memotong batang menjadi bentuk brush yang diinginkan. Seluruh desain dibuat dengan perangkat lunak Autodesk Inventor Professional. Perhitungan daya, gaya potong, serta dimensi komponen juga dilakukan untuk memastikan kinerja mesin optimal. Hasil rancangan ini yaitu Alat pengujian ini memiliki panjang 560 mm, lebar 475 mm, dan tinggi 670 mm. Dari hasil perhitungan daya motor yang diperlukan untuk pengerollan sebesar 0.4 kW dan daya motor untuk pemotongan 90W, pulley yang digunakan yaitu NBK dengan ukuran 7 inch dan 5 inch tipe v-belt B dengan panjang 43 inch, diameter poros 25 mm.

This research aims to design a brush making machine mechanism from miswak as a solution to manual production and produce non-uniform products. The main problem raised is how to determine the technical specifications and workings of the appropriate machine to produce brushes from peeled miswak sticks. The design is carried out with an engineering approach, including identification of needs, determination of mechanisms, and calculation of machine elements such as shafts, belt-pulleys, bearings, and drive motors. The machine was designed using two main mechanisms: a two-roll rolling mechanism to flatten the miswak sticks, and a reciprocating mechanism to cut the sticks into the desired brush shape. The entire design was created with Autodesk Inventor Professional software. Calculations of power, cutting force, and component dimensions were also carried out to ensure optimal machine performance. The results of this design are as follows: This testing device has a length of 560 mm, a width of 475 mm, and a height of 670 mm. Based on the calculations, the motor power required for rolling is 0.4 kW and the motor power for cutting is 90W. The pulleys used are NBK with sizes of 7 inches and 5 inches, type V-belt B, with a length of 43 inches and a shaft diameter of 25 mm.
