Abstract

This study examines the optimization of bracing design for a monopod structure with two support legs used on an offshore platform. The main focus of this study is on the effect of various bracing configurations on the stress distribution and fatigue life of the structure. The monopod structure under study is located in waters with a depth of 53 meters, using SACS software for modeling and analysis. The three bracing types tested were Z-type, X-type, and Inverted V-type, each of which was studied in terms of strength efficiency, ease of fabrication, and estimated construction cost. The analysis results showed that the X-type bracing had the most even stress distribution, thus providing the best structural performance. In addition, fatigue analysis shows that variations in bracing design affect the potential for structural damage, which can be used to determine the optimal design for offshore platforms in the western zone of Kangean. This research makes an important contribution to the development of efficient and economical offshore structure design.
