Abstract
Lapangan Volve, yang terletak di sektor Norwegia North Sea, memiliki target utama berupa reservoir batupasir Formasi Hugin berumur Jurassic. Meskipun telah diproduksi, recovery factor (RF) lapangan ini masih berada di kisaran 50%, menunjukkan masih adanya potensi cadangan hidrokarbon yang signifikan untuk dioptimalkan. Karakterisasi reservoir Formasi Hugin menghadapi tantangan akibat kompleksitas struktur sesar dan lemahnya reflektor seismik, yang menyulitkan interpretasi batas reservoir secara akurat. Penelitian ini menggabungkan metode inversi seismik model-based dan analisis multi-attribute yang dikalibrasi dengan data log sumur untuk memetakan distribusi impedansi akustik dan estimasi porositas. Analisis lingkungan pengendapan menunjukkan bahwa Formasi Hugin, khususnya pada struktur Theta Vest, didominasi oleh sistem tidal channel dan mouth bar yang terbentuk dalam lingkungan transisi pasang surut dan fluvial-marine. Pola sedimentasi ini berperan penting dalam mengontrol heterogenitas lateral dan vertikal reservoir, serta memengaruhi distribusi sifat fisik batuan seperti porositas dan impedansi. Hasil inversi menunjukkan impedansi akustik berkisar antara 7000–9000 g/cm²·s dan porositas 10–27%, dengan korelasi tinggi terhadap data log (R = 0,99). Berdasarkan integrasi data, diidentifikasi dua zona prospek utama dengan rentang porositas masing-masing 16–27% dan 14–20%. Pendekatan ini memberikan gambaran komprehensif terhadap karakteristik reservoir dan mendukung strategi optimalisasi pengembangan lanjutan Lapangan Volve.

The Volve Field, located in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, primarily targets the Jurassic-aged Hugin Formation sandstone reservoir. Although production has taken place, the field’s recovery factor (RF) remains around 50%, indicating significant remaining hydrocarbon reserves that can be further optimized. Characterizing the Hugin reservoir presents challenges due to complex fault structures and weak seismic reflectors, which complicate accurate reservoir boundary interpretation. This study integrates model-based seismic inversion and multi-attribute analysis, calibrated with well log data, to map acoustic impedance distribution and estimate porosity. Depositional environment analysis reveals that the Hugin Formation, particularly in the Theta Vest structure, is dominated by tidal channel and mouth bar systems formed in a tide- and fluvial-influenced transitional marine setting. These sedimentation patterns play a key role in controlling the lateral and vertical heterogeneity of the reservoir, affecting the distribution of rock properties such as porosity and impedance. The inversion results show acoustic impedance values ranging from 7000–9000 g/cm²·s and porosity between 10–27%, with a strong correlation to log data (R = 0.99). Based on data integration, two main prospective zones have been identified with porosity ranges of 16–22%, and 14–20%, respectively. This approach provides a comprehensive understanding of reservoir characteristics and supports further development optimization strategies for Volve Field.
