Abstract
Biodiesel adalah bahan bakar alternatif terbarukan dengan karakteristik yang mirip solar, namun masih memiliki beberapa kekurangan. Untuk memperbaiki kekurangan tersebut dapat dengan menambahkan minyak cengkeh sebagai bioaditif karena memiliki kandungan oksigen yang tinggi, dan memiliki sifat yang mirip dengan bahan bakar. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen dengan mencampurkan minyak cengkeh kedalam bahan bakar B30 (30% minyak jelantah dan 70% Dex) dengan konsentrasi 1%, 2%, dan 3% kemudian dianalisis performa dan emisi yang dihasilkan pada mesin diesel 1 silinder 4 langkah tipe KM 186 FA. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian properties meliputi density, kinematic viscosity, flash point, dan Lower Heating Value bahan bakar B30 yang dicampurkan dengan variasi minyak cengkeh masih berada di ambang batas yang ditetapkan oleh Dirjen Migas nomor: 146.K/10/DJM/2019. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian peningkatan performa terjadi pada bahan bakar B30+1% minyak cengkeh pada beban 1000 Watt yang memiliki nilai daya sebesar 1244,737 Watt, torsi sebesar 3,683 N.m, BMEP sebesar 110,666 kPa, BSFC sebesar 0,576 kg/kWh, efisiensi termal sebesar 14,08%, B30+2% minyak cengkeh pada beban 1000 Watt memiliki nilai daya sebesar 1236,053 Watt, torsi sebesar 3,676 N.m, BMEP sebesar 110,441 kPa, BSFC sebesar 0,580 kg/kWh, efisiensi termal sebesar 13,97%, dan B30+3% minyak cengkeh memiliki pada beban 1000 Watt memiliki nilai daya sebesar 1236,053 Watt, torsi sebesar 3,668 N.m, BMEP sebesar 110,201 kPa, BSFC sebesar 0,587 kg/kWh, efisiensi termal sebesar 13,79%. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian penurunan nilai opasitas terjadi pada bahan bakar B30+1% minyak cengkeh dengan menghasilkan nilai opasitas sebesar 3,4%, sedangkan dengan bahan bakar B30+2% minyak cengkeh yang menghasilkan nilai opasitas sebesar 4,5%, dan bahan bakar B30+3% minyak cengkeh yang menghasilkan nilai opasitas sebesar 5,5%. Opasitas dari seluruh campuran bahan bakar masih berada dibawah ambang batas Permen LHK No.8 Tahun 2023.

Biodiesel is a renewable alternative fuel with characteristics similar to diesel, but still has some drawbacks. To improve these shortcomings, clove oil can be added as a bioadditive because it has a high oxygen content, and has properties similar to fuel. This research was conducted experimentally by blends clove oil into B30 fuel (30% used cooking oil and 70% Dex) with concentrations of 1%, 2%, and 3% and then analyzed the performance and emissions produced in a 1-cylinder 4-stroke diesel engine type KM 186 FA. Based on the results of testing properties including density, kinematic viscosity, flash point, and Lower Heating Value, B30 fuel mixed with variations of clove oil is still within the threshold set by the Director General of Oil and Gas number: 146.K/10/DJM/2019. Based on the test results, the performance improvement occurred with B30+1% fuel. Based on the test results, the performance improvement occurred with B30 + 1% clove oil fuel at 1000 Watt load which has a power value of 1244.737 Watt, torque of 3.683 N.m, BMEP of 110.666 kPa, BSFC of 0.576 kg/kWh, thermal efficiency of 14.08%, B30 + 2% clove oil at 1000 Watt load has a power value of 1236.053 Watt, torque of 3.676 N. m, BMEP of 110.441 kPa, BSFC of 0.580 kg/kWh, thermal efficiency of 13.97%, and B30 + 3% clove oil has at 1000 Watt load has a power value of 1236.053 Watt, torque of 3.668 N.m, BMEP of 110.201 kPa, BSFC of 0.587 kg/kWh, thermal efficiency of 13.79%. Based on the test results, the decrease in opacity value occurs in B30 + 1% clove oil fuel by producing an opacity value of 3.4% while with B30+2% clove oil fuel which produced an opacity value of 4.5%, and B30+3% clove oil fuel which produced an opacity value of 5.5%. The opacity of all fuel mixtures is still below the threshold of ministerial regulation LHK No.8 of 2023.
