Abstract
Industri kilang minyak menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan efisiensi dan profitabilitas di tengah fluktuasi harga minyak mentah dan tuntutan pasar terhadap produk bernilai tinggi. Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) sebagai unit utama dalam proses penyulingan memiliki peran strategis dalam menentukan margin kilang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dan memilih inovasi teknologi proses pada CDU melalui pendekatan pengambilan keputusan multi-kriteria guna meningkatkan profitabilitas kilang. Lima alternatif mode operasi CDU dianalisis, yaitu ALC Mode, ALC Mix Mode, Dual Mode, Penurunan Turn Down Ratio (TDR), dan Idle Mode. Evaluasi dilakukan berdasarkan lima kriteria utama: Gross Refinery Margin (GRM), Yield Valuable Product (YVP), Utilization Rate, Operational Availability, dan Capital Expenditure (CAPEX). Metode VIKOR digunakan sebagai alat bantu pengambilan keputusan untuk menentukan alternatif terbaik berdasarkan kompromi antar kriteria. Data diperoleh melalui simulasi menggunakan perangkat lunak GRTMPS dan kuesioner kepada sepuluh ahli industri kilang. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Dual Mode merupakan alternatif terbaik dengan nilai indeks kompromi (Q) terendah, yaitu 0,000. Mode ini memungkinkan pengolahan minyak mentah secara bergantian untuk memaksimalkan produksi bahan bakar bernilai tinggi dan meningkatkan GRM secara signifikan, dengan kebutuhan CAPEX yang relatif rendah. Implementasi Dual Mode memberikan fleksibilitas operasional, peningkatan yield produk bernilai tinggi, serta efisiensi pemanfaatan unit proses tanpa mengorbankan ketersediaan operasional. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi strategis dalam pengambilan keputusan berbasis data dan metode multi-kriteria untuk optimalisasi teknologi proses di kilang minyak, khususnya dalam menghadapi dinamika pasar dan keterbatasan bahan baku.

The oil refinery industry faces significant challenges in improving efficiency and profitability amid fluctuating crude oil prices and increasing market demand for high-value products. The Crude Distillation Unit (CDU), as the primary unit in the refining process, plays a strategic role in determining refinery margins. This study aims to evaluate and select technological innovations in the CDU using a multi-criteria decision-making approach to enhance refinery profitability. Five CDU operational modes were analyzed: ALC Mode, ALC Mix Mode, Dual Mode, Turn Down Ratio (TDR) Reduction Mode, and Idle Mode. The evaluation was based on five key criteria: Gross Refinery Margin (GRM), Yield of Valuable Products (YVP), Utilization Rate, Operational Availability, and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX). The VIKOR method was employed as a decision-support tool to determine the best alternative based on trade-offs among the criteria. Data was obtained through simulations using the GRTMPS software and questionnaires distributed to ten refinery industry experts. The analysis results indicate that the Dual Mode is the most optimal alternative, with the lowest compromise index (Q = 0.000). This mode enables alternating crude oil processing to maximize the production of high-value fuels and significantly improve GRM, with relatively low CAPEX requirements. Implementing the Dual Mode offers operational flexibility, increased yield of valuable products, and efficient utilization of processing units without compromising operational availability. This study provides strategic contributions to data-driven decision-making and multi-criteria methods for optimizing process technologies in oil refineries, particularly in addressing market dynamics and crude supply limitations.
