Abstract
lingkungan (mother nature) berupa cuaca buruk.

The rapid development of the construction sector in various regions is reflected in the many projects being implemented. However, during the process, problems often arise in the
form of material waste that can harm the project and threaten environmental sustainability if not managed properly. This study analyzes material waste in a construction project by identifying the dominant types of waste materials, calculating the amount of waste costs, and determining the main factors causing them. Dominant materials are identified using the Pareto Principle to pinpoint those contributing to 80% of the total waste cost, while causal factors are analyzed using a Fishbone Diagram developed through validation of previous research results
and interviews with relevant sources. Thus, the results of this study provide information regarding the types of materials, waste costs, and the main factors causing material waste in the Tower 3 Project at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology. Identification of factors
causing material waste is conducted by referring to previous research, then validated and expanded through interviews with related sources. The analysis results show that the materials producing the largest quantities of waste are Plain Reinforced Steel (BjTP), Ready Mixed Concrete K-500, Ready Mixed Concrete K-400, ACP Seven PVDF 4 mm Alloy 5005 0.5 mm, and Ready-to-Use Mortar (Instant Cement). The total waste cost from these materials reached Rp 886.804.496. The material waste was caused by several factors, including manpower factors such as worker errors, management factors related to management mistakes, method factors including errors in material storage, design factors due to complicated designs, and environmental factors in the form of bad weather.
