Abstract

Sistem perpipaan memiliki peranan sangat penting di
industri minyak dan gas. Sebagian besar jaringan pipa
Sedangkan pada pengujian pull-off
test, lapisan epoksi memiliki rata-rata nilai adhesi paling besar,
===== Pipeline has a very important role in the oil and gas
industry. Most of the pipelines used in this industry is steel as the
material which particularly vulnerable to degraded due to the
events of corrosion caused by the environment. One of the method
to protect the pipe from the corrosion is by using a multi-layer
coating with polyethylene and polypropylene as a top coat. This
method has many advantages compared to single-layer and is
able to cover the limitations of single-layer coating method.
Based on data from salt spray fog test, epoxy, polyethylene, and
polypropylene coatings have excellent effectiveness against
corrosion with rating value 9. From the pull-off test result, epoxy
coating has better average adhesion value rather than
polyethylene and polypropylene coating with 4.67 Mpa. This
result was obtained due to different failure category from the test,
epoxy as adhesive failure, while polyethylene and polypropylene
categorized as cohesive failure and glue failure. Through visual
observation, polypropylene has excellent bonding to the second
layer, because on the surface of the substate there is mechanical
interlocking mechansim at the interface area which increases
adhesion strength
