Abstract
Dalam industri, gesekan antar elemen mesin seperti bantalan (bearing) dapat memengaruhi kinerja dan masa pakai komponen. Oleh karena itu, sistem pelumasan berbasis prinsip tribologi menjadi penting untuk mengurangi gesekan dan keausan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis pemilihan pelumas untuk roller bearing SKF BT2-8131 A pada mesin Vertical Roller Mill milik PT. Solusi Bangun Indonesia, Pabrik Tuban. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan tipe pelumas yang lebih baik dibandingkan pelumas sebelumnya serta mengidentifikasi jenis lapisan pelumas yang terbentuk. Validasi dilakukan untuk memastikan efisiensi operasional dan kinerja maksimal. Proses penelitian dimulai dengan pengumpulan data operasional mesin dan spesifikasi pelumas. Pemilihan pelumas dilakukan menggunakan perhitungan nilai kappa dan kurva Streibeck untuk menentukan jenis lapisan pelumas, seperti boundary, mixed, atau full film lubrication. Validasi hasil yang didapatkan akan dilakukan dengan melakukan proses perhitungan prediksi umur bearing. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelumas pembanding yang terpilih adalah Pertamina Masri RG 460 dengan nilai kappa sebesar 1,29. Pelumas ini dipilih dengan alasan masih sangat memumpuni dari segi teknisnya dan juga sangat ekonomis dibanding pelumas pembanding lainnya, walaupun peneliti juga memberikan opsi lain yaitu Mobil SHC 600 460 dengan nilai kappa sebesar 1,73 jika yang dipertimbangkan hanya dari segi teknisnya saja.

In industry, friction between machine elements such as bearings can affect the performance and service life of components. Therefore, tribology-based lubrication systems are important to reduce friction and wear. This research focuses on analyzing the lubricant selection for SKF BT2-8131 A roller bearings on the Vertical Roller Mill machine owned by PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia, Tuban Plant. The purpose of this research is to determine the type of lubricant that is better than the previous lubricant and identify the type of lubricant layer formed. Validation was conducted to ensure operational efficiency and maximum performance. The research process begins with the collection of machine operational data and lubricant specifications. Lubricant selection is carried out using the calculation of kappa values and Streibeck curves to determine the type of lubricant layer, such as boundary, mixed, or full film lubrication. Validation of the results obtained will be carried out by carrying out a prediction process of predicting the life of the bearing. The results of the study showed that the selected comparative lubricant was Pertamina Masri RG 460 with a kappa value of 1.29. This lubricant was chosen because it is still very capable in terms of technical and also very economical compared to other comparative lubricants, although the researcher also provides another option, namely the Mobil SHC 600 460 with a kappa value of 1.73 if considered only from a technical point of view.
